COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Bottle from the LCBO BB 22.03.2015. Clear orange amber colour with off white head. Smells malty, floral, toasted malt, orange rind, bread. Same notes come through on the taste. Nice bitter finish. Decent, but I was expecting better. Maybe need a fresher beer.

Nice, balanced aroma, with biscuit malt, caramel, and fruity hops. Surprisingly malty caramel flavor, with some citrus and flowery hops in the finish. Not an over the top hoppy IPA, but still very good.

Bottle @ De Tolly Joogipood. Shared with friends. Rich fruity aroma. Very hoppy. Good IPA.

Can at home. Hazy orange, big eggshell head. Stale hop aroma, caramalt, some dusty tropical fruits. Medium carbonation. Barley sugar flavour, raspy bitterness, some stale grapefruit hop character in the middle. Clearly past its best, but can only rate what’s in the glass...

Bottle @ home. Unclear amber body with a large offwhite head. Hops, fruit, mango, pineapple. Flavour is hops, plastic, grapefruit. Unfortunately not very fresh. I’m pretty sure its better fresh.

Very clean, dry IPA. High bitterness but with a good malt backbone. Floral hop notes.

355ml can from ales by mail. Appearance is a dark golden amber colour with an ideal sized white head. Aroma is powerfully floral and sweet with malt notes. Taste is citrus fruits, caramel with a perfectly balanced combination of flavours. Wonderful IPA.

Big lastning beige head over a pale amber beer. Big and intence hop aroma. Smooth caramell malt taste that is well balanced from a big bitterness and hop taste. Full bodied with a small residual sweetness.

Very American IPA with frothy, sticky, egg-white head and beautiful, clear, deep orangey amber colour with calm sparkling. The aroma delivers what I hoped for: a dank and perfumey bouquet of grapefruit, pine needles, hemp, freshly cut mandarin, wormwood and other bitter herbs, acacia honey, sweet white wine, hazelnuts, spring flowers, melon, a subtle and refined strawberry sweetness - I’m falling in love with this. It has a lovely sweet fruitiness to it as well as a citrussy hop character, though elegantly so and not overpowering too much, something I understand seems to be typical for Centennial; this beer is clearly about balance. Taste reveals the same: a smooth, elegant, gracious fruitiness at the start, orange, apple, pineapple, with relatively soft carbo; a minerally salty accent appears and accompanies the palate till the end, adding complexity and balance. In the middle, a deep, toasted, nutty maltiness follows, clean and crisp, leading to a very long and dry, very resinous, citrus peel and ’earthy’ tonic water hop bitterness, with some of the juicy malts seeping through, just as it should be. Perfectly balanced and elegant IPA - Founders never disappoints, that much is clear.

Classic IPA, has the memorable flavours that you hope for: rich malt, citrusy bite and lovely bit of fruit that leaves you wanting. And to top all of that goodness off, it goes down very smoothly.

Pours light amber with white head. Light body. Great hop flavor with lots of citrus fruits and sweetness.
