COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Cannot believe this IPA is not in the top 5. The combination of dry hopping AND leaving it unflitered has forged the PERFECT..and I again I say to this day PERFECT IPA for me. The dry hopping here produces a nice "gumball" mouthfeel, while the unfiltered floaters root it diametrically to the earth. Wish I didn’t have to trek to Hudson, WI to get it. But I do...and will. Try it for yourself. I know raters here tend to rate higher the higher the ABV. Just remember this is an IPA not a Double IPA.

Appearance: beer pours with a medium beige head, almost tan, the beer is a very nice clear amber color that almost looks orange at times, Aroma: grass, earth, pine, perhaps some light bread and malt, smells very good Taste: grassy and piney, light citrus, average bitterness, some lightly toasted malt is a subtle building block for the hops, very delicious Palate: average mouthfeel, average carbonation, slight bitter aftertaste Overall: wow this beer is amazing, the alcohol is hidden very well, highly drinkable despite the abv, kind of like the all day but more full and more malt to it

Founders Centennial IPA has a thick, cream-colored head, a clear, amber appearance, with some stray bubbles, and some lacing strings left behind. The aroma is of sweet, juicy, herbal hop oil, and sweet, bready malt. Taste is of all these things, with a bursting juiciness, nice, not harsh, bitterness, pepper, and possibly an onion note. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Founders Centennial IPA finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and rather drinkable. This is so wonderful! RJT

Light amber, creamy off white head. Wonderful smell of sweet and tropical fruits (apricots, pineapple, citrus) with some aromatic hops. Taste shows a good malty base (biscuits) with a lot of fruitiness again fading into a great resinous hoppy finish. Excellent.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a Sierra Nevada Celebration pint glass. The color is a hazy Orange with yellowish highlights. There is a finger and a half of foamy white head and some nice lacing left on the glass. The smell is earthy hops with a spicy pine aroma on the edges. There is a slight dankness here in the nose. The taste has a nice sweetness at first with a citrus flavor that is mixed with tangerine and a slight hint of cherry. the bitterness comes out toward the back of this beer and pushed forward till there is bitterness building as it finishes. The feel of this beer is lighter then most IPAs and is pretty drinkable. This beer is quite refreshing and a pleasure going down.

Beautiful looking, nice smelling, great tasting IPA. To me, the hop characteristics are not as distinct and interesting as some other IPAs, but it’s well balanced and tasty.
