COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Selected as a benchmark for the Beer Judge Certification Program used in all American based beer judgings. Centennial IPA has quickly become the IPA of choice. Pour yourself a pint of this complex flavorful ale and bask in the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the immense citrus accents, achieved by the abundance of dry hopping. This ale’s sweet, malty undertones balance the hop character with a finish that never turns too bitter.

Pours amber. Smells like wort: grains and hops. Tastes like chocolate, cream, hops. Come citrus, pepper, lots of grain. Clean, slightly sticky finish. Very nice, well balanced IPA.

Bottle from Corks of Cotham. Amber in colour and poured with no head and slight carbonation. Aroma of grapefruit and turkish delight, with a touch of pine. Full mouth feel, with more tropical fruits, some caramel sweetness, biscuity malts. Finish was dryish with some alcohol warmth. Very good.

Thought this was a tasty IPA for not being an IPA drinker. A beer I would recoomend however to other IPA drinkers, seeing that is it a benchmark for the beer judge certification program. Had a sample of this at the Corridor Beer Fest in Iowa.

Pours hazy orange with low head. Citrusy aromas with mild malt coming through. Flavour is sweet caramel with fruit hop flavours. Very good.

Draft at mellow mushroom Decatur. Pours orange with an inch of white foam. Nice floral notes on the nose. I get a bit of the malt sweetness on the tongue. It finishes with some nice bitterness to clean things up. Very nice!

Cold bottle, relatively fresh. Attractive amber colour with little to no head, soft carbonation. Smells of sweets - frosties and refresher bars, as well as pungent hops. Taste is slight caramel sweetness balanced with an astringent rounded bitterness, rose water. Decent IPA - plenty of flavour.

Bottle split with JF at his gaff - the 60+ insect bites tasting, thanks to he, 09/06/13. Almost clear orange amber with a big frothy off white head. Nose is floral hops, caramel malt, hops, bitter grapefruit, orange. Taste carries a good pine bite, biiter grapefruit, orange pith, caramel malt, hops. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. Good stuff, nice caramel malt vein running throughout balanced well with hops and pine. Having had this on tap in the US in the past, the journey to the UK in a bottle hasn’t done this one too much harm thankfully!

12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice color of somewhere between gold and copper, filtered, modest head and minimal lacing. Aroma of stinky hops piney citrusy, slightly bitter. Taste is similar, bitterness upfront then comes the piney floral flavors which fade back into a pleasant bitterness left on the tongue. Little bit of booze on the finish. Mouth feel is nice medium slightly syrupy. Nice strong single hop IPA, I don’t think the Centennial is my favorite of the hop variety but it is a bit different from your other traditional IPAs. Definitely worth a try.

Dark brown, not much head Aroma has ripe tropical fruit. Flavor more fruitiness plus lots of bready malts.

Poured up an amber brew with very little head that died out quick. Aroma was a bit musty and alcoholish. Some bitter bite on the toungue and enough malts to keep it from being too overpowering. Shows signs of being a great IPA but for some reason my 6 pack of it just didn’t seem to have the same results others who have reviewed this brew would suggest. Not sure why that is.

Bottle to glass. Pours an orangish amber color with a frothy off-white head. Aroma contains hints of citrusy, grassy, herbal hops, with a mild caramel malt. Flavor consists of mild bitterness well balanced with a mild caramel sweetness. Body is light to medium with a quickly disappearing bitterness, but lingering sweetness in the finish. Solid IPA, but remember it being better last time I tried it. Likely sitting on the shelf for too long.
