jeff789 (59), Pennsylvania, USA Mar 14, 2008 Updated: Oct 11, 2008 Pours an orange copper color that is quite cloudy.. Creamy hoppy aroma... Not nearly the hop kick i was expecting, but rather a creamy slightly malter than hoppier hit... almost similar to an ESB initially... Then the hop presence subtly takes hold and finish dry... Almost tasted like i would expect an imperial ESB to taste... Not bad...
WickerBrew (283), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 13, 2008 This tastes pretty good up front, good hop profile and aroma, and it looks appitizing. Maybe a little heavy on the pine but thats ok, just a little sticky. It bombs on the overall because of the headache it has now twice induced the next day. I dont know what is in there but I gave it another go and I had the same feeling like i was gonna die the next day. All in my head too, i never get like that. I really dont know what thats all about but its confirmed pope_phred (125), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Oct 13, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Poured produced a hazy, orange-amber body, topped by a small off-white head of foam. True to it’s word, the beer is unfiltered, with flakes of sediment suspended in it’s seemingly thick liquid. Moderate lacing. Fair amount of hops and pine aroma, though not cloying, paired with an undercurrent of roasted malts. Dry, fairly well-balanced for an IPA, with a slight hint of sweetness, with extra nod to the quick diminish of the aftertaste. Notes of pine, alcohol, and bitter citrus in the palate, leading to a dry, fairly clean finish. This IPA did not stray far from it’s description and earned points with me for that reason, even though the yeasty bits give me some cause for pause. Overall, a good beer with strong character. Rciesla (910), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 13, 2008 Bottle in my local store. Pours a copper body with 1 finger off white head. A big hoppy floral aroma with nice malty accents. Flavor is very hoppy and spicy. Some pine and grapefruit. Decent ipa. mansquito (652), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pours a big beige head and has a coppery amber body. Really flowery and fruity aroma. Not as hoppy smelling as other IPAs and I think that is a good thing. This beer is not hop slaughter, but it still packs a moderate punch. Big flowery and fruity taste... aroma gives you a good hint. Somewhat bitter and pretty citrusy. Various discernible taste is a complex and quality IPA. beerbill (1324), Laurel, New York, USA Oct 9, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a moderate off-white head that lasted through to the end of the glass and left a layer of foam with each sip. Very pleasant aroma of pine, grapefruit, and malt. The flavor is malt up front, followed by some strong pine. Nice hops bite at the finish with some dryness at the end. Well balanced and enjoyable.
