orange with a touch of pink color. Aroma is of course a sweet cherry with a little grain behind it. Light tartness and sweetness. Well balanced flavor better than the average fruit beer.

12oz bottle. Orange, white head; light cherry with a hint of sour. Flavour of slight sweet cherries, nice tartness that starts at the side of the mouth and grows - a great finish and very interesting.

Pours a deep red with a fluffy white head that dissipates quickly, but never disappears completely. Smells of cherries, sour cherries, faint perfume, and a brown sugar malt sweetness. Taste is a puckering tart cherry up front and sweet malt with a syrupy sweet lingering cherry flavor in the finish. Medium body and carbonation with a syrupy mouthfeel. I liked this one, I think this is a very well done fruit beer. I love cherries but sometimes fruit beers can be well over-fruited.

Bottle; Pour is clear golden amber with a modest white/pink head that retains fairly well into this glass. Mild funk on the nose, coupled with a bit of cherry pits. Yes, I am a fruit beer fan, and yes, this one is not only boring but a weak seasonal from Founders. It’s mildly bitter and tangy, with a hint of earthiness from the cherries. Its smooth and palatable overall ; i.e. boring.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2011 flitered reddish beer, white head. Aroma is of a light beer with some faint cherry flavor. At the initial sip the beer is very sweet then fades intoa good cherry flavor. Not fake this time!!! finish is delicious. I really dont like too many cherry flavored things becaseu they always take fake, this actually tastes like real cherries. Well this and de proef’s van twee.

Oh, how it pains me to admit it, but I’ve found a Founders brew I can’t stand. I knew it would happen one day, and it figures it would involve a fucking fruit beer. Pours pink, like it should, I guess, except I have trouble finding excitement in pink beer. Smells like boysenberries. Just kidding. Yeah, tons of tart cherry and not much else on the nose. But I wasn’t prepared for the sweetness mined from this bottle. And it is sweet, coming dangerously close to wine-cooler territory (NOTE: I just had this problem (5/11) with another cherry beer, so my opinions on the style probably shouldn’t count.) Seems like a beer for people who don’t like beer. (4/15/09)

Bottle:
Small and quick disappearing white head/lacing on top of a hazy orange pink reddish beer.
Smell dust, malts, cherries, cinnamon and hints of hops and yeast.
Taste spices, malts, bitter, sweet, cherries, hint of ginger bread, hints of other red fruits, yeast, hint of alcohol, slight hints of caramel and herbs.
A sweet bitter aftertaste with very slight hints of sour and spices.
Low carbo, medium body, soft mouthfeel, watery texture.
Strange tasting beer, but not bad.
