COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You’ll have a soft spot for this one. Using only fresh Michigan tart cherries, this beauty tantalizes with intense flavors combined with a no hesitation malt bill. Adding fresh cherries at five separate stages of fermentation achieves the ultimate balance between tartness and sweetness.

Bottle. Pours a bright red hazy body, with a light and thin lacy head. Malty and fruity, very wine-like, hardly bitter, slightly sour, very drinkable, intensely fruity but rather hard to describe, quite unique

355ml bottle. Pours a dark ruby color with a small fizzy pink head. Aroma is mostly sweet, definitely dark fruits, and just a little bit funky. Some burnt suger notes. Taste is sweet, malty with dark fruits, caramel and some yeast flavors. Sweetness is not overwhelming and some tartness gives a good balance. Lively carbonation. I didn’t taste any alcohol, but the 6.5% ABV is just too much for this little complexity. Overall, this is probably better than most fruit beers I’ve had, still it looked like the little sister of Lindemans Cassis: very similar to this but with less fruit presence (but it can be fine) and most disappointingly less body and less trartness to add some complexity.

Bottle. Clear red with a small white head. Aroma of light cherries, also some light spices and notes of metal. The taste was sweet with cherries and some notes of pepper and wood. Not complex and with a light body and acidity.

Notes of light fresh cherries and then a blast of sour cherry with lengthened malts.

I know I had this, I don’t know why it is not rated. Aroma of cherry, light malt. Taste was definitely strong cherry leaning, which I know is why this beer is made, it just doesn’t appeal to me. Usual Founders quality appearance and palate. Solid fruit beer, but a once in a while taste.

Bottle:   Pinkish hued amber, fair amount of haze, moderate white frothy head, fairly sticky lacing.   Certainly a fruity nose, slightly sweet cherry, a little candyish and artificial.   At the same time it seems a little tart and immature, so a blend of real and immitation perhaps.   Not bad...   A bit more real on the tongue, sweet yet fairly tart.   Does have some starburst like qualities to it, but its fairly minor compared to the fruity tartness.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Not quite a New Glarus, but it sure beats the piss out of most American made Fruit Beers.   Lingering cherries, both tart and sweet.   Very clean too.   Yeah, I really enjoyed this one.   Might even say its easier to drink than the Wisconsin Red.
