Pours a base golden color with bright red tint. Off-white bubbly head. Scent is of cherry but not strong. Reminiscent of fruit juice. This beer gets better as you drink it. Initial impression is very tart. As you drink more the taste starts a bit sweet and then you are hit with what can be best described as a cherry bomb. Very intense cherry flavor that quickly dissipates. In the end this beer finishes very tart, but not unpleasant. I couldn’t drink many of these, but one or two would work fine.

Bottle courtesy of Mogger poured a clear pinkish amber with a lingering ring of ivory foam. Aromas of sour cherry, carmel and light straw. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a smooth finish. Flavors of sour cherry, straw and light carmel with a smooth lingering cherry finish.

Hazed yellow pour with fluffy white head and lace. Aroma of sour cherries. Sour cherry with a metallic finish. Medium bodied and a bit foamy. I’ve had several of these beers without the metallic finish,. I will try to find a fresh one and re-rate.

12 oz. bottle via trade with manny57 - Another beer I didn’t take very good notes on. I do remember I didn’t really care much for this beer. The cherries really lingered in the finish in an unpleasant way. May have to try it again in the future. Thanks Ryan.

Bottle consumed in Spring 2009. Review input from notes.
Pours a reddish-pink mixed with a wee bit of brown. The aroma is that of tart cherries with hints of sweetness. The taste brings out even more cherry flavor, coming full on at your palate. There is a slight tartness to it as well. Medium bodied and quite drinkable, a fantastic fruit beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 otakuden (1490) - Vero Beach, USA - NOV 26, 2010
Appearance: rose and orange under a rose-tinged head soft as silk. Lace marks my glass gently while a thin layer of pink silk remains. Swirls with more lace and more head.
Nose: kind of musty, then opens into powdered sugar, whole black, red, and maraschino cherries. Undercurrents of powdered sugar sweetness throughout while the cherry pie emerges from the oven, crust brown and warm to the touch. Kiss of rhubarb in the back.
Palate: soft and gentle does it. Homemade cherry pie, crust golden brown, cherries and rhubarb stuffed to the point of no return. Pastry crust. Gentle powdered sugar sweetness marries all the flavors together while still allowing them to be separate. Airy quality to her mouthfeel; like eating a delicate puff pastry, with cherries of course. Tart tickles underneath as the cheeks tingle in delight.
Final Thoughts: really really good. Once more Founders impresses with their brewing prowess and skill. A wonderful breakfast beer, I could equally enjoy the Cerise at any time of day.

The beer pours to a reddish chestnut body with a creamy white head. The aroma is cherry juice and malts. The flavor starts off with sweet and tart cherries. With a smooth malt body. Almost tastes like Cherry Pie with that malt. The palate is sweet and Tart at the same time. Mouth watering. Texture really works. probably my favorite Fruit beer so far. Time to expand my taste profile.
