1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 Tranquillity (1314) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 14, 2010
Bottle at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. No smell of fruit, rather of rubber. Smells fake aroma, rubber gum perhaps. Taste ammonium chloride! Really nasty beer... Looks like dark rose wine, almost no head.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 russwbeck (117) - Tyrone, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 8, 2010
Pours a golden yellowish-red color with no head to speak of. Smells of cherries and other dark fruits, malty undertones. Sour cherries and grapes on the taste. Very tart drink to start off. Malt characters resonate at the close of the drink. Very light, but bitter. Can’t tell if the twang is carbonation or tart cherries.

Bottle... Poured clear golden with a thin white head. This was good, but the cherries were a bit artificial tasting. Like maraschino cherries. The beer was creamy, sweet milk, and very medicinal. Very soda pop-like in cherry sweetness

I was immediately taken to the excellent perfume of cherries but not impressed by the mediocre appearance - little head, not much to look at period. The taste was nothing like i expected. it was chock full of cherries, but only slightly sweet and tart. Don’t expect something like a lindeman’s - it’s much more beer-like. there were a ton of different flavors competing to be heard in this beer and I found each of them mouth-watering delicious. The palate was incredibly smooth and full and really completed this beer. Overall, I expect to keep this beer on hand as soon as I can find it reasonably priced by the case.

Light red. Aroma is sour cherries. Taste is same. Very light, somewhat sour with a strong fruit presence. Pretty good.

Lightly tart, nice fresh cherry flavor, not overly sweet. Another solid fruit beer from Founders, though I think I’d prefer if they could have continued making Rubaeus.

Slight pink-tinted pour. The nose has a touch of bright cherry aroma along with a touch of lemon peel tartness as well. Quite tart and fruity flavoured with a little bit of malty sweetness as well... I wasn’t expecting that based on the aroma. Sort of juicy with a touch of bubble gum as well as an almost concord grape character. Kind of odd, but I can see the appeal.
