COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You’ll have a soft spot for this one. Using only fresh Michigan tart cherries, this beauty tantalizes with intense flavors combined with a no hesitation malt bill. Adding fresh cherries at five separate stages of fermentation achieves the ultimate balance between tartness and sweetness.

Aroma: Cherry, rose petals, yeast. Appearance: Light red to pink in the glass. Beautiful rose color - with a bubbly appearance that made it gorgeous in a 16 oz glass Taste: The taste actually introduces itself and then opens up into a beautiful sparkling rose with hints of red fruit before opening up further to finish with the bittersweet taste of cherry from a cherry pie aspect. This beer isn’t sweet, it fragrant - it’s not fruity, it’s complex - it has potential and opens up as you take another sip. Very enjoyable and not overly carbonated or a cheap knockoff to flavor like the other fruit/vegetable beers I’ve tasted. Palate: Enlightened. This brew would be perfect with some vanilla ice cream or tart cobbler. Soft tannins. If you are a rose lover or even a sparkling wine lover - this beer will satisfy those flavor profiles while giving you the craft flavor satisfaction you’re looking for. Overall: I wouldn’t session with this beer but instead would enjoy it on every/any occasion that doesn’t necessarily call for beer. This is one over those brews you can use to convert people to the craft beer world - a brew that even the most loyal wine lovers can enjoy. Founders has hit the nail on the head with this one and I look forward to having this beer again with some great food to complement.

On tap at the Liberty. Pours a pink color with a white head. Has a cherry smell to it. Taste like cherry syrup. Not like cough syrup but pretty damn close. It was hard to finish this one.

Bottle poured into a tulip glass at the The Porter Beer Bar in 5 Points. Poured a nice pinkish hue with a bone white head that didn’t last. Aroma of fresh cherries, that’s about it. Flavors included a lot cherries, a biting tartness and just a tad of bready malt. Nice and fizzy, mouthfeel wasn’t thin and watery but somewhat full. One of the better fruit beers I have come across. Another winner from Founders.

Bottle - Pours a light pink/red color. Medium head. Suprisingly good lacing. Mild cherry aroma. Nice tart cherry flavor. I never have high expectations for fruity beer, this one is probably better then expected. Founders knows what they are doing. The key with a quality fruit beer is to not overdo it. This one has just enough of the tart cherry flavor, but it doesn’t overwhelm you like some of the macro fruit beers. Overall a nice beer that a man could drink two of without feeling guilty.

Bottled. I don’t like this at all... medicine syrup/cough syrup and barley wine mixed just not good at all. First let down by Founders for me.

Bar Great Harry ($6): Red (like a cherry red) body with a little head. Aroma is of hops and cherries. The taste is really tart as one would expect from a properly brewed cherry beer. The taste of hops is certainly noticeable in there. Kind of on the sour side of things. Overall, it is very well-balanced and it is a fruit beer you can drink without being a girlieman.

12oz bottle pours a transparent, grapefruit red with some soft, white head. Aroma is tart cherry juice, a little herbs, a little yeast. Flavor is tart cherry juice, a little raspberry, a little pale malt, a little cracker. Finish is tart and lightly sweet. Founders essentially created a beer in order to highlight the cherries. That makes this beer nice, but still one note.

The aroma is cereal grains, wheat-like, light component of cherries. The appearance is orange/red, white head. The flavor is much stronger cherry flavor, tart cheries mainly, cereal grains, brown sugar. Much sweeter than the aroma implies. The finish is sweet and tart cheeries, very little in the way of hops or any other bittering component. medium in body. Decent. Good summer ale.
