COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You’ll have a soft spot for this one. Using only fresh Michigan tart cherries, this beauty tantalizes with intense flavors combined with a no hesitation malt bill. Adding fresh cherries at five separate stages of fermentation achieves the ultimate balance between tartness and sweetness.

Draught at Capone’s: No aroma at all. Poured red/pink with a hint of amber in color and a creamy, dense, slightly pink head that lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet with a hint of tartness. Tastes of wheat, cherries, and water. Medium body. Chalky texture. Average carbonation. Wheat finish.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is tart cherries and a wheat like aroma as well. Appearance s pinkish amber color with a thick off white slightly pink head that lingers around for a while. Taste is tart cherries, sweet but not too sweet, and a really nice sourness to it overall. Palate has a slightly lingering tart cherry taste in the aftertaste. It’s quite carbonated and tart on the tongue. Overall, I like it. It;s not a sugary mess but tastes like cherries and is nice and tart. Cheers!

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip glass. Aroma of light cherry, with a somewhat metallic odor. The first sip starts a bit tart, then a big syrupy sweetness hits you. It goes down too thick and sweet for me. Good carbonation. Overall, too sickeningly sweet for me. I love Founders beer, but this one disappointed.

MAP (1133) - Lakewood, Ohio, USA - APR 3, 2009
Single purchased at Rozi’s in Lakewood. Pour is a very, well, colorful one. It looks like wine, or fruit punch...with bubbles. Its the off-reddish hue with a thin white head. Flavor is not so bad considering the aroma doesn’t do anything to impress. Flavor is crisp from the cherries, a little tart, then closed with a little maltiness. Not the best fruit beer from Founders, but could be a whole lot worse.

12 oz bottle pours a pinkish orange, with a very small whitish head. tart cherry pie aroma with some pale malt to give it a beer base. surprisingly sweet (i guess?), much like cherry filler out of a can that might be used to take up space in a cherry pie. somewhat thin, but not watery. enjoyable possibly as a dessert beer, or for someone who likes sweeter fruity beers, but this isn’t one i will drink regularly.

Pours dirty pink with a fizzy, pop like, white head. The aroma is cherries, cherry pits, and toasted malts. The flavor is very malty with a robust cherry finish. Medium body and sprite carbonation. Not at all what I had expected.

Pours a reddish-amber color with a pink head. Aroma is of cherries, toasted malts, and some grains. Flavor is pretty much tart cherry throughout. Nice tartness on the finish. Overall pretty good, but not New Glarus.

polomagnifico (1105) - Saginaw, Michigan, USA - APR 2, 2009
UPDATED: APR 12, 2009 Bottle. Aroma has notes of cherries, yeast, and bread malts. Bright red amber hue with an average pink head that mostly diminished and left no lace. Flavor is sweet, tart, and sour. Palate is medium bodied and lively. Very good beer and as close to New Glarus Belgian Red as I’ve come across. One of my favorite fruit beers so far. Great.

Bottle pours clear red color with white head. Has a tart cherry aromat. Has a medium light mouthfeel. Flavor is more tart cherry aroma with some biscuit. This is an easy drinking fruit beer. Served with a cherry pie or some ice cream and we’ve got something!

Pours a clear reddish pink amber with a tiny white head. Aroma of light cherry pie filling and cherry concentrate. Taste of sour cherries, cherry pie filling and cherry juice concentrate. Almost like a watered down light version of New Glarus Belgian Red.
