Jan 2, 2009 Bottle thanks to Santa. Pours out a murky brown color with a nice bright medium orange head. The aroma is boozy, some rich fruits and lots of sweet caramel and sugary notes. The flavor is very nice; scotch, caramel, light fruit, some bourbon perhaps, lots of malts, leaves your palate creamy and tangy,light hops. Very nice and quite different. A bit boozy, but that’s fine with me.

Dec 31, 2008 Bottle pours hazed orange amber with not much head, perhaps some surface haze islands. The aroma is vanilla peach and plum malt. The flavor is very fruit focused, mainly plum wine, sweet, vanilla, rum, and some yeast to keep if from being cloying. The palate is pretty rich and filling. Overall, not bad as a border line English Barley Wine, but really sort of misses the point on Old Ale for me. Pretty intoxicating none the less.

Dec 31, 2008 Bottle.Pours a hazy amber orange with a thin off white head.Aroma of sweet caramel malts ,honey,and some woody tones.Flavor is awesome,malty caramel,sticky honey,rasins,dates spruce, and burbon. Smooth creamy mouthfeel,a little sticky in a good way. Loads of lacing all the way down the glass,a nice warming effect. Very good

Dec 30, 2008 Nice old ale. Heavy alcohol aroma and taste. Sweet malts overcome the hops easily. Pours a dark amber with a moderately firm head.

Dec 30, 2008 Bottle...holy scotch aroma!...along with deep rich malts...deep and sweet they seep...dark copper with brown tones...happy beige foam taking a nap on top of the glass...nestling into the liquid mattress until its presence is hidden....thick creamy body...heavy and sweet...the scotch and malt deeply imbedded...sweet and dry & sticky on the lips...I ponder this upon my sips...peaty and sweety with a little citrus on the finish (grapefruit)

Dec 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy cider brown with a white head. Fruity, yeasty nose. Banana, pineapple, and passion fruit flavors. Very smooth, full bodied, slightly dry.

Dec 24, 2008 tronraner’s Xmas Eve Eve Eve Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to Suttree. Hazy orange body with small floaties. Slight whitish carbonation builds but disappears instantly. A very syrupy aroma, raisins, rum, syrup, vanilla. Taste is maple syrup with a light alcohol, brown sugar and a touch of hops.
