4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
I really love this beer. Its the first and only old ale that I’ve tried, but it has enticed me to try more. Aroma is very much of caramel malt. Appearance is a hazy amber with no head. Taste is a nice combination of sweet and a little bitterness. I don’t know how, but I feel like I can taste the aging. Very little carbonation. I loved this beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Cotteridge wines. Copper beer, small head that reduces to nothing. Aroma of bourbon, malts and treacle. Taste is sweet treacle, malts, tawny port wine and a mild bitter finish. Sticky on the palate. Good. Added a few more points onto the score, it grows on you. Very good.

Hazy deep amber, small tan head. Dark fruit, raisin, caramel, brown sugar, hops, roasted malt and woody aroma. Medium to heavily sweet, a bit boozy (not much). Medium to full body, soft carbonation, creamy texture. Sweet finish. Very nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Off white head, 1 1/2 fingers in depth. Hazy and amber in color w/ dark red hues towards the center and top of the beer. The aroma is big on the molasses and oak!! Not getting much else. The taste follows the nose along with a sweet caramel backbone. Overall pretty straight forward in taste. Medium mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma in this one is sweet malts with burnt sugar and alcohol. The taste is a very well balanced soup of heavy and sweet caramels, darker fruits, vanilla with a tad of wood. There is a trail of pine resins running through this one that tags along all the way through. Warming and malty. I’m slowly turning into that dude on the label... Actually, he looks a little bit like my dad, so it’s not that far fetched.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Reddish / brownish beer with a strong off white head. The aroma is strongly hopped, roasted and malty. The flavour is very malty and rich with heavy hops, bitterness and burnt roastedness. Overall a very nice strongly malty, hopped and roasted ale.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler from Red Star Craft House. Founders never disappoints. Copper colored, little carbonation. Packs a punch. More well-mannered than a barleywine, but they are close cousins flavor-wise. Bittersweetly malty with dried fruit and oak notes. Clean mildly bitter finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Color matches the mahogany in the "man cave’, off white head fades fast. Aroma is sweet, toffee, caramel a little vanilla, nice malt flavor. An easy drinker considering the ABV. A really nice beer.
