This was like no beer i have ever tried before. I am not going to lie it tasted a bit like capt morgans but i think it was because of the coconut like taste. It went down rather smooth and has little to no taste of alcohol and not much bitterness.

Two beers in a row where the consensus seems off by a few points. No head to speak of. Dark whatever color (not black or totally opaque). Aroma of mild, faint musty junkyard. Flavor very fruity something. Could be any number of fruits you could have fun guessing at with this one. Blueberry? Raspberry? Fig? Date? Plum? Very sweet in any case. Very smooth palate. Deserves some points for being interesting/distinctive. Technically it comes out at a 7/10 but Iíd give it a 7.5 on the subjective scale.
Back to back with Immort Ale or a similarly suitable barley wine, this will get you sufficiently lit.

12 oz. bottle from OhioDad. Pours a hazy caramel color with a small and fast diminishing off white head. Dry woody aroma, young oak, hints of toffee and clover. Tart and extremely tannic in the flavor, lots of oak, somewhat sweet malts, but overshadowed by tannins and astringent herbs, with alcohol and slight pepper finish. Full body, creamy carbonation.

bottle. mahogony pour with thin head. very strong aroma of oaky bourbon, sugar, caramel malts, mild fruits and floral hops. full bodied. bourbon dominates palate. paper, suagr, rich malts, floral hops. bitter finish. I enjoy bourbon beers but this had too much bourbon for my liking.

I think somebody put rum in mine. The mix of vanilla and bourbon barrel woodiness gives this a very rum like scent and flavor. My 4oz sample was more than enough, but it was interesting.

Pours a dark brownish color with hardly any head to stay around. Aroma is of coconut, chocolate, caramel, and whiskey. The aroma actually reminds me of those coconut, chocolate, graham cracker bars. Taste is fruity with intense sugary flavors, spices, and again the whiskey flavors. These beer is very lightly carbonated but it seems to tickle the nose a bit. A good brew but not a daily drinker as itís too syrupy for me. HIdes the alcohol exceptionally well though.

Duane shared a bottle of this with a few of us. Some whiskey in the nose, some sweet malt flavor. This was not my style of beer. I havenít warmed up to barleywines or old ales yet, so this wasnít a favorite of mine.

Aroma of booze, wood and pitfruits, murky reddish brown, miniscule tan head. Strong alcohol taste, malt with some woody notes. Medium bodied, fairly strong alcohol, yet enjoyable. Quite good. Thank You mds.

Amber colored out of the bottle with a very hesitant ivory head that retreated into a slight ring around the glass very quickly. My first sniff of this warned me that this must be the bourbon barrel vintage. Whiskey, wood, butter and alcohol all wafted up. Overall the mouthfeel seemed a little watery, given the ABV and style. Lots of noticable alcohol in the flavor, both actual from the 9.3% and suggusted from all the bourbon. The barrel aging does impart lots of bourbon, oak, and the buttery sensation that I always get from bourbon barrel aged beers. My complaint about barrel aging is when the barrel overwhelms the beer and this seems to be one of those times. Flavors of vanilla, berry, oak, dried fruit; but all just washed out by the bourbon. If you like bourbon barrel beers, here is one. I prefer more balance with the beer.
