Bottle. Pretty unexciting, and not sure why this is a SHV. Hardly spicy at all. Big sweet malt aroma, burns the nose. Very very alcoholic. Taste is quite sweet, fairly unexciting vegetals and belgian malts. Not much belgian yeast seen. Maybe a touch of cinnamon and coriander or something. Not worth even close to $17!

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet hoppy giving it notes of grass and grapefruit, and so is the flavor. Nice.

Thanks to hoppymeal for this bottle. Dark brown pour with small tan head. Lovely aroma of caramel, wintery spices, dark fruits and malt. Flavor is sweet malts with toffee, caramel and some darker fruits. Nice mouthfeel and pleasant finish. Really enjoyed this beer. Thanks hoppymeal!

Pours a viscous, mostly still amber copper with a thin ring of small bubbles. Aroma of sweet, toasty dark caramel with some hints of honey and nutmeg and a touch of grapefruity hops. Body starts with some nice caramely sweetness and good, smooth spiced balance with a more bittersweet, and slightly earthy, full finish that hides the alcohol quite well. Decent complexity throughout and nicely balanced.

Dark copper/brown, with a smalle, tan head. Aroma is subtle, malt, caramel and spices. Flavor is caramel, malt, spices, and alcohol. Heavy body. Sweet from start to finish. Not as much spice character as I expected. I like this one a lot.

Comments: An immense alcohol bite takes on the leathery, spicy yeastiness. Sugary, biscuity and ginger-like monstrous ale. Can a beer be too original?

22 oz bottle, Julio’s Liquors. Pours a clear copper amber under a small fizzy foamy beige head that retained as a patchy partial covering. Moderate visible carbonation. The nose is heavy malt with tons of various herbs and spices. Some toffee and light alcohol. It kinda reminded me of liquid Cascade dishwasher detergent. Heavy toffee and caramel malt flavors battle big herbal spices for supremacy. Malt wins up front, and spice on the back end. Very light in the bitterness area, and a little alcohol, but not much for 13%. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a slightly viscous texture and moderate fizzy carbonation. Quite warming on the finish. Overall, I can’t say that I’m too into this one. When I factor in the cost of this guy, my satisfaction really plummets.

Thanks for sharing, Duane. The body was brown and ruby with a khaki colored head. The aroma was caramel with some sweet pancakes and cinnamon. The taste had caramel with some notes of iced tea. There was also some walnuts. Nice.
