Commercial Description:
Tenth Anniversary Ale A generous malt bill, ten hours in the kettle, a touch of hops, twice fermented with a blend of American and Belgian yeast strains, then conditioned with a delicate blend of spices. Wow suck. Smelled good. Notes of caramel hops yeast and big time alcohol. Even the looks were nice, deep brown almost like they melted a bunch of caramel and threw it in the glass. But the flavor was ridiculously terrible. Pepper bomb. Mixed with caramel and malts. But the pepper and alcohol was no good.

Bottle sampled from Capones Shared with the Mad Indian. Pours clear brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of spices, fruit, caramel, and brown sugar. The flavor is exceptionally smooth, dark fruit, spices, caramel, brown sugar. Great brew.

Thanks pantanap for this one. It pours darkbrown with no head. The mouthfeel is sticky, thick and the flavor has notes of toffee and raisins. The aroma is musty. Interesting brew.

Happy Tenth Anniversary, Founders! Many more!
Even an aggressive pouring doesn’t raise much of a head over this hazy brown ale. Less than a finger of creamy ecru suds appears, then soon becomes an incomplete ring around the glass. The aroma is toffee and heavy spicing, ginseng and ginger and a shake or two of pepper. It tastes even sweeter, rich toffee and some caramel & buttescotch, tempered by a lot of spices, some aniseed being added to what was previously noted. Pretty good, but I doubt I’ll be repeating it.

Thanks Chuck for acquiring this overly expensive beer. The beer pours to a really dark mahogany body with a thin dense creamy light-beige head and nice lacing. The aroma is very strong with tons of sweet caramel and toffee with lingering sugary sweetness and grassy and weed hops. The flavors are really, really strong. Extreme caramelized sugars, sweet toffees and nougats, and an odd overpowering spiciness. Extremely rich, sticky, full bodied and really warming. Too much of everything going on in this beer. Removal of the spices might actually produce a nice Scotch ale?

dark pour w/ a thick almost oily appearing tan head w/ some nice thick lacing. Aroma is well spiced definite ginger some light peppers definite alcohol a light caramel sweet piece a light anise and smoke. Full well coated creamy palate. Very sweet flavor, lots of brown sugar and caramel some light peppers and ginger, very nice, toffees and alcohol. Good stuff, but has a ton of stuff that almost detracts... Yet I enjoyed.
