Pours with a slightly white lacing. Taste is coriander, those spices, a sweet caramel and coriander mixture, and not nearly as sweet as Pannepot (which is a good thing). Definitely a sugar (brown) and molasses. Very decent beer. cewldre (268), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Taste is a crazy amount of raisin, creamy, smoooth. Wow, this one is nothing but raisin, but it’s so smooth to drink. Fantastic. MoDog (917), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Poured from a 22oz bottle into a shaker. This beer poured a slightly cloudy, dark mahogany color with a thin, yellowish/tan head that quickly disappeared, leaving a few large bubbles floating around. No lacing was left behind, but the beer was very oily and coated the sides of the glass. The aroma was made up of candy sugar, dark fruit, alcohol, sweet caramel malt, and a touch of maple syrup. The flavor was similar to a barley wine. It included notes of apple, maple syrup, very sweet malts, and candy sugar. The alcohol was apparent, but not overwhelming. The mouthfeel was definately full-bodied and very thick. It had an almost syrupy consistency that coated the tounge and mouth. Very minimal carbonation. An interesting beer, and one worthy of representing Founders 10th anniversary. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Bottle shared with Your Dark Lord and Landseer. Pours copper with no head. Aroma is complex with notes of maple, spices, raisens, and liqueur. Full bodied with soft carbonation and slight syrupy texture. Flavor brown sugar, dark fruits, and figs with the spices melding in. Lots of sweetness, as this beer is very under attenuated (think Avery). Finish is warming with a pleasant booziness. Enjoyable, but for God’s sake- put this in smaller bottles. Malt, coriander, brown sugar, dried fruit, caramel in the nose. Medium to full body with a sweet and sticky texture. The flavor was sweet and syrupy. Not bad. BBB63 (4228), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2007 MiBGF 07: My last rating from the fest, great time! This beer has a deep reddish amber color with a lasting frothy beige head. The nose detected sweet spices (coriander and ginger root), sweet malts (caramel and special B), vinous and liquor vapours, plum and star fruit, and an overall Belgian yeast ester.
The taste starts quite spicy and sweet with a heavy dose of Belgium character scattered about. I picked at various points of the tasting hints of peat moss, sour apple, butterscotch candy, and some bakers chocolate. The mouth feel is soft and even a tad refreshing for something so big. While the alcohol is noticed it is surprisingly not an interference. This is a good brew, interesting and unique. Let’s see what happens to it when I age my bottle.
