Aged over a year in the bottle. Poured dark amber with a thick, near-yellow, head of foam. Loaded with spices on the nose. Caramel, black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, and a bit of cream in the flavor. Mildly carbonated with a suprisingly heavy body. Deliciously sweet.

Sampled at the Carolina Crew tasting in Greenville - thanks to whoever brought this! Was informed that this was aged about a year. Reddish pour with a small head. Malty and sweet aroma with a hint of spices in there. Orange peel and other spice flavors I couldn’t quite put my finger on meshed nicely with the aged malt. Smooth drinking, although a bit of a hot finish. Really enjoyed drinking this.

Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville --Thanks Jason! Nose has a bit of malt, a lot of spices, and a bit of sugar. Flavor has even more spice, a bit of malt, and a bit of blah. I tried this about a year ago when it first came out but I was kinda buzzed then just like I was when I drank it this time. Oh well. In any case, it wasn’t memorable on either occasion.

Pours a red orange hazy brown with a thin orange head. The nose is sweet, spicy, mellow aged malt, citrusy, light alcohol, smells like its calmed down a lot. The flavor is rich and warm, waxy, aged mellow, a year did it well. Rich palate, thick, and a little warm in the finish.

Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - bottle from MrBendo (I think). Year old or so at this point, and the brew is drinking splendidly. A cloudy brown pour, a strong spiced ale with a complex malt profile that seems to deepen as it warms. The yeasty dimensions is very, very subdued, I must say, and I was wanting a bit more quirkiness in that regard. But there’s enough going on here so that it’s not needed, with vanilla, nutmeg, and orange peel in the finish.

Bottle via MrBendo - thanks! Sweet spicy nose, lots of caramel malt with citric hops, sticky and reminiscent of FFF. A bit of colorful sugar, presumably from the yeast, and vanilla cream. Dark brown pour with a light brown / tanned head. Strong flavor, robust alcoholic kick, sweet with a grassy/herbal tone which lasts past the caramel in the drying aftertaste. Firm vanilla and a bit of a cool mint feel. Touches of clove and ginger, sweet toffee and yeast made liquid - the colorful candy store notes that one finds often in Belgian. Loads of rich, developed malt, hints at chocolate without presenting it. Complex and nimble and delicious! Dried, pitted fruits, more fig than apricot. Medium, very sticky body. Aftertaste has tobacco, cigar quality - reminds of HOTD. Had no chance at guessing 13% abv - tastes more like a full 8-9%. Dangerous and very original!
