Bottle: Dark brown in color with a small tan head. Smell is a solid amount of raisin. Taste is a crazy amount of raisin, creamy, smoooth. Wow, this one is nothing but raisin, but it’s so smooth to drink. Fantastic.

22 oz bottle in trade from Siphium. Deep burnt orange pour with minimal head. Strong malt aroma, once past that roasted coriander and maybe cardamon. Nice feel, the 13% alc and sweetness round out a very very green smoothness. Chocolate and spiced apricots on the hard palate. This is a fine beer and one of the best in it’s style.

22oz Bomber. Pours a light brown, slightly red color. Aroma is caramel and syrup with hints of brown sugar. Sweet, hints of fruit, hops, and overall very roasted tasting. I can’t wait to have another one.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 edfitz (117) - Toledo, Ohio, USA - JUL 29, 2007
Deep brown with very little head. Malty and smooth, a little sweet. Alcohol not very noticeable, which is suprising considering the high content. Good brew.

Indy Brewers Fest. This was one of the most unique and tasty brews of the day. A lot going on- a syrupy mouthfeel, lingering note of ginger nicely matched against a sweet brown sugar taste,

Got this on my whirlwind tour of Great Lakes breweries at the Founders Brewpub. It was served in a goblet which showed off it’s beautiful red body nicely. There was a bit of head around the edges, but not much to speak of really. The aroma was very spicy with a pronounced sweet maltiness behind the spice. I got an almost rye character but it might have been the hops. The flavor is pretty heavily malty but with a bunch of spice in it. The bittering from the hops compensates nicely and there is almost a belgian character to it. The flavor is pretty smooth for 13% ABV and medium bodied. Pretty good drinkability considering the strength.

On tap at Founders. Poured a cloudy orangish-brown with minimal beige head. The aroma is huge in this beer with big spice and sugar. Taste was quite hot, but I can’t wait to try it in a year or so.
