TURDFERGUSON (1114), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jul 22, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville --Thanks Jason! Nose has a bit of malt, a lot of spices, and a bit of sugar. Flavor has even more spice, a bit of malt, and a bit of blah. I tried this about a year ago when it first came out but I was kinda buzzed then just like I was when I drank it this time. Oh well. In any case, it wasn’t memorable on either occasion.
nbutler11 (108), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 5, 2008 Aged over a year in the bottle. Poured dark amber with a thick, near-yellow, head of foam. Loaded with spices on the nose. Caramel, black tea, vanilla, cinnamon, and a bit of cream in the flavor. Mildly carbonated with a suprisingly heavy body. Deliciously sweet. Illini08 (514), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 28, 2008 Sampled at the Carolina Crew tasting in Greenville - thanks to whoever brought this! Was informed that this was aged about a year. Reddish pour with a small head. Malty and sweet aroma with a hint of spices in there. Orange peel and other spice flavors I couldn’t quite put my finger on meshed nicely with the aged malt. Smooth drinking, although a bit of a hot finish. Really enjoyed drinking this. ucusty (914), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Tasted at the Carolina Crew gathering, Greenville - thanks to MrBendo? Copper pour with a thin head. Sweet spiced malts on the nose. medium bodied with flavors of; Citrus, brown sugar, and spice. Mace maybe emacgee (1010), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 21, 2008 Pours a red orange hazy brown with a thin orange head. The nose is sweet, spicy, mellow aged malt, citrusy, light alcohol, smells like its calmed down a lot. The flavor is rich and warm, waxy, aged mellow, a year did it well. Rich palate, thick, and a little warm in the finish.
