Commercial Description:
Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

Pours a brown amber with small white head. Aroma of complex hops, caramel, and strong malt. First taste is surprisingly sweet, but not overpowering. More taste is of alcohol, pine, and caramel. Definitely a brew I a going to have to try again.

Bottle. Poured a dark/ muddy amber color with small white head. Aroma of lots of malt, pine, hops, caramel, and fairly sweet. Very candy sugar like, with pine, citrus, bread, and strong alcohol. Sticky thick mouth feel and long lasting taste. The first Triple IPA and enjoyed...

At the Indiana Microbrewers’ Festival my buddy and I got the first two glasses! Hoppy, touch of sweet, very fragrant. A very deep beer.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a thin foamy white head that quickly diminishies to a thin film that leaves pretty good lacing.Huge aroma of pine, and floral hops along with big sweet malty caramel notes,a little musty, maybe some bread. Intense flavors of very sugary sweet pine resin, brown sugar, orange zest, peaches, wood, very complex, very barly wine like in aroma flavor and mouthfeel, very little carbonation, and slightly sticky. VERY GOOD !

Hazy orange, real small white head that’s gone quickly. Nose is very sugary, orange, minor citrus, slight alcohol. Way too sweet. Flavor is again citric, loads of alcohol, sugars abounding and malt thrown in for kicks. Thick palate, slight salt. Odd malt notes in the finish, chalky and slight bread. I get no fresh hop here until the very end, and unfortunately, continue to be unimpressed by Founders.

Medium brown, cloudy and thick. Minimal head. Hoppy aroma with some sweetness. Flavor is strong, rich, extremely hoppy but has a little sweetness and easy to drink considering the very high ABV. Not something I’d want to have more than one, or two.

12 oz bottle from Walt!!! Nose of a Barleywine, caramel, raisins, brown sugar, with a hint of piney hops. Murky opaque brown with a small light beige head. Flavor is light bitterness, brown sugary sweetness, toffee, and a lingering bitter finish, more prominent than in the beginning! Too bad I can’t get this in CA!
