bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA Mar 16, 2008 HOPS, that’s all I need to say. Smooth, thick, low carbonation. Alcohol is hidden quite well. Long lasting finish. Hophead holy grail. Unique69crazy (119), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Mar 16, 2008 WOW!!! Would you like to just sit down and have one beer to just put you over the edge? This is it and a mean one at that. I’ve always wanted to try this because I’m a hophead at heart but this brew is just incredible! Hops hops and more hops is all you taste. Thick syrup look with a slightly golden head. The only bad thing (or good, depending on how look at it) is the alcohol in this beast. Careful to not overindulge with this cat because it will bite back! Thanks Founders for putting my taste buds to the test! esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Mar 16, 2008 At Three Cellars tasting. Dark amber with hops, hops and more hops in the aroma, grapefruit/lemon. Decently malted with a hop-tacular finish. Didn’t notice the alcohol much for it being 13%! BigBang (210), Indiana, USA Mar 15, 2008 Deep color and pleasant aroma. Given the high alcohol level, it is almost amazing how little you can taste such a high alcohol level. Worth trying. corby112 (671), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 14, 2008 Pours a nice amber color with foamy off-white head. Hoppy aroma with hints of malt and citrus. Very smooth and well balanced. ABV very well hidden. Creamy and somewwhat sweet with a nice malt presence that balances out the floral and citrus hops. Excellent! hombrepalo (726), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 13, 2008 Tap @ Maproom. Deep amber. Super-smooth, creamy, and thick mouthfeel. Lofty malt aromas of cocoa, caramel and bread dough. Really nice elements of yeast and alcohol in the background. Intense hops throughout, but very fitting and balanced against the big malts. Notes of sugary pine, perfumey spruce tips and sweet, complex fruit. Wonderful level of bitterness; builds in aftertaste. Tasty, tasty stuff. StFun (535), Indiana, USA Mar 12, 2008 Updated: Apr 13, 2009Pours an amber-orange with a frothy head. A little carbination is evident. The aroma is strong citrus and pine. Bitter! So bitter, in fact, that the bitterness comes through in the aroma (along with some pine and metal, like copper pennies in your hand). Flavor is tangy and bitter as hell. Very, very strong flavors. Some candy in the taste, and creamy on the aftertaste. Pretty damn delicious. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Mar 10, 2008 Clear orange color with foamy white head. Light citrus hop nose with notes of orange peal. Thick bitter body with a sweet malty mid palate before the citrus hops leave a bite on the finish.
