Commercial Description:
Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

Pours an amber-orange with a frothy head. A little carbination is evident. The aroma is strong citrus and pine. Bitter! So bitter, in fact, that the bitterness comes through in the aroma (along with some pine and metal, like copper pennies in your hand). Flavor is tangy and bitter as hell. Very, very strong flavors. Some candy in the taste, and creamy on the aftertaste. Pretty damn delicious.

Clear orange color with foamy white head. Light citrus hop nose with notes of orange peal. Thick bitter body with a sweet malty mid palate before the citrus hops leave a bite on the finish.

This is a big beer. Lots of stuff going on. The aroma is fantastic and the taste is too. It stays with you after you’re done. The hops linger in your throat. Very easy to overdo it with this one.

I have a bunch of different IPAs and it gets hard to tell them apart. Not with this one. This is the hoppiest beer I have ever had. When you leave this one on the palate you practically inhale the hops rather than just drink it. Beer pours a deep dark red brown with a barely a white rim of head. Aroma and flavor is hops, malts and raisins. Slight alcohol taste as it goes down, but not to bad. Certainly an interesting beer to try.

Pours dark amber with a thin....off white GREENISH head?? I hope I imagined that. Strong hop aroma, huge sweet malt backs it up. Flavor is intense hops, sweet caramel malts. Has a bit of toffee and raisin as well. Noticeable abv doesn’t distract from the flavor. Low carbonation, creamy. Very interesting.

Over the top in every IPA aspect. Very hoppy to the point of a sweetness. Definetly not the beer to pick if you are in a slugging mood. Actually smelled very good. ABV smacks you in the face, not exactly hidden, although at 13% what do you expect? Its kind of the point. Nice to try as a first beer of the night, but numb senses and a rapidly emptying bank account keeps it at one.

Thanks to Derek for this one. Caramel colored body, little tan head springs up and then melts away. Aroma of warm brown sugar, spicy hops, a touch of sweet fruit, and alcohol. Flavor is subtle. A sweet toffee front is interrupted by a dry bitterness that persists through the finish. Slightly sticky body yet not too thick.
