Commercial Description:
Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 200+ IBUs

Somewhat smokey and very hoppy aroma. Reddish amber color with a full, rocky head which eventually diminishes some but rings the glass nicely with each taste. Flavor is strong hops but not the piney taste some IPAs have. Tastes of citrus, brown sugar, rich malt, and mild whisky-like alcohol. Very well balanced. An excellent effort!

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy deep orange to amber with a fully gone head. Dense pinewood hoppy aroma. Solid sweet malty at first but with a very intense dark hoppy flavour following. Quite dominant and almost overempowering. Solid roasted caramel malt for base providing some decent counter balance to this.

Pours a visibly viscous copper orange colour with a late forming surge of off-white micro-bubbles that don’t quite constitute a head, lasting for a mere second. Alcoholic enough to produce legs. The nose is intoxicatingly sweet, citric, alcoholic and spicy. The flavour is more akin to a brutal barley wine than an IPA, hence the "Tripple" in the name. It is vinous, zesty, spicy and boozy in the finish and maintains a rich caramel backbone from start to finish. Notes of fig, port, lemon rind, caramel and toasted malt come to mind. The hop finish is intensely bitter, though almost equally citric and sweet and BOOZY. The palate is slightly syrupy, but not as thick as expected. It is fairly carbonated and silky smooth, though there is a slight warming.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep amber, almost brown with no head. Aroma is tons of hop with a little sweetness. Flavor is some malt, huge hop and some alcohol. Seemed a bit under-carbonated, but pretty good overall.

Thanks to Eithbubes for the bottle. Pours a thick light amber with almost no head and a yeasty end to the bottle. Big malty aroma, lots of faded hops and hints of toffee. Taste is big and malty with lots of hops, a bit faded, but nice. Lots of toffee and sneaky strong. Good beer, tasty.

bottle. first of all, this is an American Barleywine - not a IIPA. for being over 200 IBUs, it doesn’t drink that way... there are loads of hops, don’t get me wrong, but it isn’t in your face as much as say Hopsickle or even Ruination. There is an incredible balance between the malts and hops that creates such an insanely drinkable 13% American BW. It pours a deep red with little head... nice full body on top with thinner sides, tilting away from the hops. Great level of citrus hops and caramel malts on the nose.... citrus hops and a spicy character on the tip, while the finish is quite massive in hops and alcohol. There is almost a bit of a burn at the far back. Thick bitter finish that sticks with you. This beer seems to dominate the top of the tongue and the back of the throat.... overall, I was very pleased with this, but was surprised how well balanced it really is...
