1.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
(Thanks Chris "budznsudz")
A- Caramel, dough, sweet, biscuits.
A- Brown orange color, completely cloudy liquid, minimal head.
T- Caramel, bitter, bready, citrus.
P- Full body, average texture, soft carbonation, astringent finish.
O- Even with 2 years of age on this bottle, it kicks you in the face. I canít imagine if it was fresh. The caramel has grown a lot but still is too bitter and funky for me. I wanted to like this a lot, but it just didnít happen.

3.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hazy, copperish brown wish a light head that drops to a lacy ring.
The nose is sugary and malty.
Full-bodied and coats your mouth on the way down. The hops are present on the front and back end. A bitter but sweet finish lingers.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Itís difficult not to make puns about this beer being "sinfully delicious" or "tempting" but Iíll do my best. However, I canít resist the urge to say that Devil Dancerís appearance looks like hell fire with its cloudy, reddish-brown hue. My aged bottle didnít produce a lot of head, but there was a fairly robust aroma of pine and alcohol. While the aging had softened the hop notes, they were still very assertive. They started off with an herbal kick that continued right into the finish. Luckily, their bite is countered by a big caramel taste from the malt. The finale was still piney and resinous, but itís surprisingly sweet at the very last with a booze-soaked stone fruit taste. Devil Dancer has a killer mouthfeel, too. Itís oily smooth with a constant warming sensation from the 12% ABV. Not my absolute favorite Imperial IPA, but Devil Dancer is one hell of a beer. Damn it. So much for no puns...

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft at New Albanian Pizzeria. Dark hazy copper orange pour. Small white head gone quick. Little carbonation. Taste is typical ipa with huge flavor somewhat taken down by the high abv. Good beer nothing amazing though.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from 12oz bottle into standard pint glass. Color is a rumbling, dark amber brown. Thin, oily head. Rich, candied malt notes dominate the aroma, with whatever bloom was left of the hops hiding in the back. Similar to putting my face to a grain bin and inhaling sharply through the nose. Viscous and enveloping in the mouth. Flavor sticks to your gums. None of the citrus notes I was expecting from an imperial IPA were to be found. This is closer to imperial stout than a pale ale in flavor. Lots of malts. For all the advertised IBUs (112), there is limited bitterness, and the beer is well balanced in that regard. From the first sip you are aware that this is high gravity drinking. With so much going on (the malts! the distant, yet consistent bitterness! the alcohol!) this beer remains drinkable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. The pour is a dark amber, or a mild copper color. The head is a light tan and fades down quickly leaving a small spotty lace. The Arabia pretty hoppy. It's got a good caramel malt characteristic to it, which isn't overly expected in an IPA. There is also a dark fruit resonating throughout the back end of the nose. The flavor is very similar. There is a little sting of bitter at the front, but it fades through a caramel type of maltiness and then a strong booziness on the back end. There is a little bit of a burning hop in the back end as well. The mouth feel is pretty creamy, and the aftertaste lingers beautifully. Not really what I'd call an IPA, but to each their own I suppose. Almost like a barleywine.

On draught at the Big Hunt in Washington, DC. Pretty good double (triple) IPA - but not the most amazing beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from 2012 bottle into tulip: Pours cloudy amber with a one finger beige head. Aroma of fruit, nuts, and malt. Taste is very, very malty but it masks the massive amount of hops in this beer. Itís amazingly balanced, but there is just too much of everything. This beer was WAY too harsh when it was fresh. It aged extremely well. Itís still not great because itís too malty, but itís much better than it was. Boozy finish, full body, lingering, not bad.

Lots of malt on the nose and taste. Aroma is pungent floral and hops. A bit heavy but cleans off in the finish with a lingering bitterness. Overall good but not sure Iíd get it again.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark gold pour. Aroma is intense, malty and hoppy. Taste is malty start finished by a huge amount of hops. Smoother than expected for abv.
