Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

So burning. Yes. Imagine a glass full of alpha acid with a spoonful of flames... It’s similar to that. One of those beers you drink and you’re like, what 12 percent?! And then the next day you wake up somewhere weird. This beer is hops on a level several floors above the roof above the skyscraper that the hoppiest beer inhabits. It’s really good. 25 dollars a 4 pack good? Actually maybe.....

Bottle from mchughs. Pours copper red with fluffy off white head. Dead aroma of once vibrant hop. Methyl notes, alcohol, dusty malt. Flavor is biscuit sweet with an astringent horrible throat burn the like I haven’t experienced in a beer. Awful which is disappointing.

Bottle at a Systembolaget tasting. Boozy smell with some fruity notes. Sweet taste with dried fruit and toasted sugar. The body was a bit too light which made the strong bitterness a problem. The aftertaste was not pleasent at all and reminded me of a throat burn (puke). Seeing which beer I had and the scores it have I wonder if I got a bad bottle.

Draught. Pours a dark ruby red with a thin off white lacy head. Aroma is of grapefruit, resinous pine, perfumey, caramel, citrus. Taste is of grapefruit, pine, exotic fruits, chalky, caramel, floral. Oily mouthfeel, soft to medium carbonation.

Pours two finger of head on a dark straw body. Aroma is complex: lemon, pineapple, papaya and a little bread. Taste is moderate bitterness but bold, fairly sweet at the back end, a little alcohol heat at the finish. Texture is thicker.

355ml bottle. Clear redish with beige head. Aroma is caramel, sharp hoppines with spicy, grapefruit and citrus notes and warming alcohol. Taste is sweet caramel, grapefruit, mango, dry citrus zest and again almost spicy hop notes. Fairly heavy almost rough mouthfeel, medium carbonation and lasting bitter aftertaste with pressing alcohol warmth.

Tap at Ale Arsenal. Clear copper-amber. flavor is really geared to the malt/sugar. The high alcohol shows itself with high residual sugar. A very good beer, but would love a little more attenuation.

Bottle from bottle rev in Raleigh NC. Looks deep caramel and tastes of it as well. Older hops in this maybe because of the age. It's quite sweet unlike a 120 ipa. It's a little underwhelming but should have tasted it younger. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared. Thanks Gregg! Tons of toasted caramel, toffee and very malt-forward on the nose and palate. Well-balanced with the malt doing the heavy lifting, but the hops shine on the finish and leave a nice bitterness. This feels and drinks a lot more like a hoppy barley wine. Still good stuff.
