COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

It’s pretty good. Nice and hoppy. However the aroma is better than the taste. You can’t taste the alcohol though and I could definitely drink one or two 4-packs on my own.

(355ml bottle from Systembolaget, ~2 months old) Pours clear ruby-amber with a decent size doff white head that fades with lacing. Aroma of intense mix of sweet caramel malts and candied fruit notes - pineapple, apricot, citrus, resin, pine, light bread, an aromatic woody note. Flavor is also intense, that quite sweet caramel malt core has some bready layers, and then there is a fair hit of hop resin, quite pine-heavy. Some dried fruit notes but nothing really jumps out. Pine resin, needles, earth and citrus pith join booze in a fairly dry, aggressively bitter finish. A bit of menthol in the dry aftertaste. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Feels like something between an IPA and a massively hopped barleywine thanks to the sweet malts and more piney, bitter hops. Pretty intense, perhaps not extremely drinkable.

Nästintill klar, bärnstens brun, snyggt orange skum. Doft: Humle, humle, alkohol, barrskog, kola, citrus skal, exotiskfrukt likör.

Maffigt.

(Bottle, 0.355 l - bottled on 05/10/16, from Alko, 20160722) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had booze, sweetness and glue. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, booze, resin, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was boozy and bitter. A sweet boozy mess.

355 ml bottle. Bottled on 10.05.2016.
Pours clear dark amber color with a large off-white head. Very intense sweet caramel malts and resin on the nose, pine, tropical fruits and subtle sweet cedar-like syrup tones. Sweet and thick layer covers your mouth from the get-go, lots of resinous hops and sweet malts, mild wooden tingling tones, alcohol is fairly well hidden beneath the sweetness, sweet tropical fruits on the finish. Palate is bitter leading to a sticky sweet end. Pretty good American Strong Ale if you don’t have problems with the sweetness.

What a lovely color! Deep amber with a fine off white head. Looks just great. Nice intensity in the aroma also. Lots of hops and fruity. Full body and a fine smooth carbonation. No cloying sweetness. It is of course a lot of sweetness here, but the bitterness backs it well up. Oily texture. Solid complex stuff. Grapefruit hoppy, tropical, toffee, pine and dried fruits. Some boozy notes, but still very well masked for an ale at only 12%. Great stuff!
