Founders most complex, most innovative, most feared and yet most revered ale produced. Massive in complexity the huge malt character balances the insane amount of alpha’s used to create this monster. More IBU’s than any brewery has documented, more than you would believe and dry-hopped for twenty-six days straight with a combination of 10 hop varieties. Dangerously drinkable and deliciously evil. We dare you to dance with the Devil. 112 IBUs

I remember this beer being hophead perfection, and it did not quite live up to that. Its defining feature is its wonderful throat coating acidic bitterness. The piney hop burn just lingers forever. So if you are a for realz hophead, this has to be tried, peroid. It seems like every brewery uses the "must try for hophead" gimmick for whatever their dipa is, but this one is the real deal. If you always find yourself wishing the dipa your drinking had just a little more hops this will be your beer. With that said, despite how awesome this beer is going down the throat, at least this time it really didnt do much on the tongue. It had a nondescript hoppy flatness to it while in the mouth. Before I drank it, I was all set to give it my first perfect rating, but a perfect beer needs to be dynamic at all stages.

Pours dark orange with a massive aroma of oranges and other citrus fruit. Body is heavily malted but finishes sweet and pungent of hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pours chestnut with almost no carbonation. Nose is sweet with citrus fruits. Abundance of floral hops up front followed with big caramel malts and significant alcohol burn. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark hazy copper. Smell of pine, mango, citrus and hops. Initial taste is full of mango, resin and citrus flavors. Slight roasted malt finish. Heavy body, low carbonation.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into tulip glass. Dark amber, almost (but not quite) brown color with thin white head. Scents of strong, fruity hops. Taste is strong malts up front, and a bitter and boozy (more than expected, but it is 12%) finish. It is complex, as advertised, but different than I expected. I kind of don’t know what to think about it.

BOOZE BOOZE BOOZE. No hop aroma or flavor, not sure if I have an old bottle or something, but this would be an enjoyable beer if labeled as an American Strong or something, but as a triple ipa, not so much. Beers like this do nothing for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This beer is huge in every way. From bottle. Dark yellow to orange pour. Huge lacing. Big hops aroma with citrus and fruit. Taste is big, too, big malty flavor and even bigger medium bitterness. Huge ABV. Very drinkable.

The 2014 release of this beer is either very very off... or not ready for consumption. The aroma and flavor is extraodinarily boozy and sweet rich malts. Previous editions have had a much more pronounced hop aroma and flavor. Pass on this or cellar a bottle and see if aging takes the sharpness off the alcohol and malts.

Wow - yet another masterpiece from founders! Lovely mahogany pour w/ a tan head that leaves a ring of lacing. The aroma is phenomenal drawing you in w/ not only the hop presence but almost w/ a fruity cherry thing going on. The taste is big & bold as I’ve come to expect from founders. It’s nearly sweet on the tongue to start & then finishes w/ it’s potent 112 IBUs but still goes down quite easily for its strength! This is a great beer!

This brew is ridiculous. So good on the nose and palate alike. Very well balanced for a high ABV.
