2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft. Pours ruby red with thin white head that lingers. Smells of cherry with light carbonation. Pine meets cherry? Boozy and overrated.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amber , almost reddish color; big yellowish head . Aroma of resin , caramel and grapefruit. Brewers reached a perfect balance between huge IBU and caramel sweetness in the taste. Great beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft - Caramel malts and some resin with some vinous notes. Clear copper with a rich beige head. Boozy caramel notes, vinous and some hoppy bitterness. More like an American Barleywine.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very good, but I’m still missing the point with triple IPAs. The reason why is that they get syrupy and resiny with the higher ABV. I’ll stick with DIPAs.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: Sweet, malty nose.
Appearance: Cloudy, dark-ruby amber color. Thin off-white colored, one-finger head that disappeared almost instantly. No lacing.
Taste: Malt. Caramel. Grapefruit. Cherries. Hops tempers fruity taste well. Balanced. Hops not terrible distinctive for a triple IPA.
Overall: I poured this 12 oz. bottle into a glass in which I like to drink beer. The beer was bottled 5/20/2014 (opened eight months later) which may explain its weak carbonation. Well balanced for 12% alcohol but doesn’t drink as big as a I would imagine a triple IPA would. RateBeer member Barnoloid summed it up well, "...IPA that doesn’t feel much like an IPA. The feel is more barleywine." #respectbeerbrethren.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 17 Oct 2014) Reddish amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, red fruit, black-currant and vinous hints of alcohol. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, red fruit, black-currant, wine-gum and a generous resiny bitterness in a finish with a certain alcohol glow. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Very tasty and quite bitter, a bit boozy but with an impressive hop presence. Very nice.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz purchased at the AJ’s Fine Wine in Scottsdale.
1" sorta yellowish head.. descent lacing dies pretty quickly but the brew is a very pretty glowing hop hazed deep orange..
Nose is thick pithy grapefruit.. plenty of malts to balance, but the hops are really front and center.
Flavor is a bunch of sorta syrupy maltiness to balance the alpha assault that begins with every sip... hops are really fruity... more fruity than the little pine that is present.. the malt sweetness is a mildly complex mix of toast.. caramel and bread.. but both hops and malts are well represented.. in fact, I am a bit surprised at how balanced this brew is.. the mouthfeel is pretty thick and oily... the viscosity is sliced down a notch by a nice carbonation that helps me want another sip.
Drinkability walks a fine line with me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pouring this from the glass I expected a big aroma, but it seems that this one is another that likes to be a little less than cold to release it’s secrets.
A sweet, malty nose, once things get going; a dark ruby amber and a soft, porous head make up the presentation of this beer...I this poured into a tulip hoping to capture that aroma. The head is gone in minutes, but the aroma is only getting itself started. The warmer this gets, the headier it becomes.
The thick, sticky body is draping itself over my mouth, coating my teeth, lips and tongue with a syrupy goodness. This has a few months on it, so I was not thrilled about doing a review on it, but it’s not actually too bad for the age. May...2014. It is a really good DIPA 7 months later, so I decided to go for it. I will look for this fresh, so that I can experience the Devil Dancer the way it was meant to be had, but even now I can say I will definitely try this again.
That being said, the carbonation is weak and could be so much more for the brew. Next time...it will be fresh. Certainly.
