Aroma of brown sugar, malt, and figs, with some slight smoke. Taste of roasted malt, dark fruit, and brown sugar, with slight hop finish. Medium to heavy body, with nice carbonation. Overall, a very nice scotch ale, I would drink more of this!
Update: I got a 1/2 barrel of this for my kegerator, and tapped it tonight. Chocolate and roasty aroma with burnt sugar, toffee and caramel. Super sweet cocoa and chocolate taste. Coffee and roasted malts abound. Pretty damned good, but not really a Scotch Ale. Dark brown color with a beige head, Aroma of rather smoky malt, some dark fruit notes, some nutty hints and caramel. Sweet flavor, slightly smoky, with artichoke notes, some fruits and a bit of toastiness. Medium to full-bodied. A nice Scotch Ale. Flavor is malty and sweet, with some caramel. Rich, creamy mouthfeel. Solid Scotch ale. Miver (551), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 21, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured fairly clear dark amber in color with a very nice brown head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of white bread toast, lightly sweet malt. Tastes of light toffee, chocolate, dark fruits. Alcohol seemed to be hidden quite well. Not bad.
