Commercial Description:
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Bottle. Pours a ruby brown body with a tan head. Big malty beer sweet with caramel malt and raisins. Some etoh warming, with a nice smokiness. Lightly hopped and sweet the whole way.

12 oz bottle pour. Nice amber color with a light head. Smoky, almost peaty aroma. Very malty flavor with a hint of smokiness. Fantastic brew.

12 oz. Clear, dark brown with a thin head that tries to last and leaves some spotty lace. Aroma of earthy caramel and light smoke. Flavors of toffee, metallic brown sugar, toast, nuts, light candied apple and earthy smoke. Near-medium body is mostly smooth, a little to the dry side, and lightly warming on the finish.

Bottle. Dark mahogany color, with a thin light tan head. Sweet woody, earthy aroma.Taste changes as it warmes,Caramel, smoke, sweet fruit "like peeches" and a hint of grain. Smooth mouthfeel, nice lacing, sometimes I get a little boozy hint on the finish, but in a good way. Very Solid.

Cloudy reddish amber with little to no head. The nose is all malty, smoky and sweet with just a hint of hops. A lot of flavor going on. Sweet toffee, smoke, nuts, bitter chocolate and caramel. Nice hop bitterness on the finish. Covers the entire mouth and the finish stays with you. Nice beer.

(Bottle, thanks to hopscotch) Pours cloudy, deep reddish brown with nougat colored head. The aroma is rather fruity, hoppy and berry-like with notes of resin, soap, strawberries, oranges, apricots and pineapples alongside malty tones of caramel, toffee, nuts as well as light hints of cookies and milk chocolate. Light smoky and earthy. Bit brown sugary. Some alcohol. The flavour is robust malty with notes of caramel and cookie alongside well balanced tones of fruits and hops. Light smoky, resiny, citric, soapy and earthy. The mouthfeel is soft, almost velvety with a light sticky touch. The finish is peppery and a bit numbing. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied. Nice.

Bottle poured into glass; Pours out dark, thick, with very minimal head that lasts throughout the beers entirety. I get a strong sense of caramel malt from the beers aroma. Flavor of malted caramel with a little toffee. Finishes bitter with a very nice hint of scotch. Good beer.

Draft from the Federal. Deep, hazy amber pour... dark but nice orange/brown color; lovely light yellow/tan head. Creamy and thick on top of the beer with good lacing throughout. Great balance of hops and malt throughout. Caramel, toffee, and bitter hops on the nose. Definitely more malt up front. A little bit of peat and not as much smoke or peat as I hoped, but a vague spiciness, possibly from the hops. Good crisp bitter finish. Remembered liking this more last time I had it. Still, quite solid, though.
