Very nice - I have had some Scottish Ales and didn’t expect much here. Very complex taste with new flavors in every sip. Aftertaste is good as well.. nice carbonation gives it a full feel in the mouth dkachur (2317), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Aug 30, 2008 Updated: Sep 18, 2008My first Founders courtesy Alraomon. 12 oz. bottle. Awesome beer. willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Aug 29, 2008 20080830 12oz bottle RB Spirits. Cola brown with lasting tan head. Aroma is earthy, dirty, mulch...okay peat. It’s a bit of a turnoff but it’s rated highly enough I fiugured I should give it a shot. Sweet with sticky malts, chocolate notes, more detritus. Pretty hot. Meh...I could do without scotch ales. fschouten (2), Manteno, Illinois, USA does not count Aug 24, 2008 A great scotch ale and pours with little head. Bitterness in the aftertaste with little hint of the alcohol content. Great with food or as an evening treat. foundmd (163), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 20, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours dark ruby brown with a moderate-sized mocha head. Has an aroma and flavor of malts with dark fruits and bittersweet chocolate. Alcohol is well hidden. guyinchicago (516), marengo, Illinois, USA Aug 12, 2008 When you talk about hop bombs this isn’t it. but if you want to talk about a malt bomb you came to the right place. pours ruby brown with barely any head to speak of. Aromas of roasted malts lots of different malts 10 in fact, also aromas of alcohol and smoke, taste is of alcohol, malts, toffee, and peat. the harsness of the alcohol tames as beer warms and relaxes to a warm caramel sweetness but laddie be careful cause this brew has a kick with 8.3 ABV content hombrepalo (745), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 11, 2008 12oz bottle.
