COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Bottle from strait and narrow, Lincoln. Dark ruby brown with no head. Stinks! Very ’farmy’ ie smells like manure, not necessarily a bad thing though. Taste is ridiculous malty treacley goodness, lovely. Tingly carbonation and a fairly full body.

Dark reddish brown color, small beige head. Aroma of caramel, malt, dried fruits, wood, spice. Taste has similar notes - sweet with bitter finish and lightly dry aftertaste. Medium to full body, average carbonation, warming touch of alcohol. Nice beer, rich and complex taste.

Nice reddish brown colour with pretty head and lots of lacing. Aroma has nuts, citrus, red berries, caramel malts and some roasted notes. Taste has caramel malts, citrus hops, some pine and wood. Full and soft body, medium carbonation. Excellent scotch ale, so much flavours in great balance.

Decided to try this after seeing that Founders was rated #1 in the top 50 breweries in the USA by The Daily Meal. I haven’t had a better beer that was brewed anywhere. As their website says, at 8.5% this "ain’t for the wee lads". Exquisite beer.

Not a big fan of scotch ales, but this is different. Nice creamy finish is what hits you first, and a beautiful brown color. Good brew.

355ml bottle at the Tipping Point Brewing Co on Wyndham Street in Hong Kong. Poured into a tulip glass. Dark red/brown in colour with a very small tan coloured head which quickly disappears. Medium carbonation. Sweet aroma, caramel malt and plum. Heavy body, taste of caramel, fruits, chocolate and a little coffee. A chewy mouthfeel. A beer with a lot going on, and a lot going for it.

Ruby red beer, tan head, filmy retention, spotty lacing. Nose is fruity caramel with malt and sweet notes. Flavor is toasty malt, caramel, nutty notes, almost sticky sweetness, hoppy-fruity medium bitter finish. Lingering alcohol, caramel and hops, some bitterness.

355 ml bottle
Ruby red to mahogany brown colored lear beer with beige head. Aroma has bready malts, slight peat, earthiness, herbs, vanilla and chocolate. Flavor has malts, herbs, dark fruits, raisin, toffee and coffee. Palate is full with heavy carbonation, slightly foamy. Finish has heavy bitterness. Aftertaste has alcohol, herbs, coffee acidicy and toffee sweetness. Decent for slow sipping, but I don’t find it that enjoyable. Reminds me of a doppelbock.
