COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer ďainít fer the wee ladsĒ

Bottle. Dark chestnut brown with a medium sized beige head. Caramel, molasses, chocolate, rum, spices, warming alcohol, toasted malt. Medium/full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. Pretty soft and pleasant. Scotch ale or barley wine?

12 ounce bottle. Pours a deep copper red color with a thick rocky beige head. Subtle caramel malt nose with hints of smoke and milk chocolate. Sweet toasted malt flavor has notes of caramel, sweet coffee, raisins and smoky peat. Very smooth, yet complex. Finish is chewy with a sticky, spicy hop finish. This is a nice Scotch style ale worth seeking out.

Bottle. The Dirty Bastard presents himself as a lovely deep red beer with just a small off-white head. The aroma is a barrage of deep caramel malt, raisins, brown sugar, a nutty quality. Sweet, dark ripe fruits. Bold and rich: pleasant.

Pours a dark ruby red with a creamy frothy head and decently laced. Aromas of aged crystal malts (caramel), caramel, caramel, caramel, brown sugar, nutty, raisin and some dark molasses. Flavors of raisin, caramel, brown sugar, molasses and a hint of grass. Medium sweet and primarily malt driven. Taste much like a dopplebock! Good desert beer.

From the ticks: 4/4/2013 Malty, thick and heavy. Noted that it was a bit yeasty.

Smell is vanilla, sweet, peaty and old malt. Pours dark reddish. Taste is malt, sticky, peaty and a slight bit of hops and or alcohol. Rich body. Not a fan of the style but if I were Iíd say this is pretty good. As it is, I donít like it at all. Too sweet, and a hint boozy. Down the drain it goes!

Pours a deep, deep reddish-brown, with a medium light-colored head. Roasted malts are at the nose and a little booze shines. A tad bitter, medium body, and a dry finish.

I had a "Founders" evening and drank this prior to drinking Kentucky Breakfast Stout. Nice rich red color with stark flavoring. Very malty and good hop finish,. I didnít find it to be a "bastard" at all.
