COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Poured from bottle into snifter. Pours a dark burgundy with minimal white head which clears quickly. Nose is nice and malty. Taste is malt, caramel, toast, some coffee, hops are there. Medium light mouthfeel. Medium light carb. I prefer the backwoods version but this is still great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap, Ashley’s, Ann Arbor, MI. Translucent amber brown. Sweet molasses and prune aroma. Thick, though not syrupy. Some cocoa and maple syrup. Hint of smoke. Sweet finish with slight hop spice.

Surprisingly I enjoy this beer it has a very subtle flavor despite the name and has an after taste that is easy on the palate, would drink again ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a pleasant mahogany color with a thin oatmeal colored head. Not a big aroma but notes of caramel, funk, candy and prune are wafting in my glass. A mouthful yields caramel malt, bittersweet fruit, toast and a light finish of bitter hop.

Scotch ales are tough to rate since they are so different from most styles. I have to be in a specific mood to enjoy one but when that happens I love the dirty bastard.

Stone fruit, cocoa and a hint of smoke on the nose. Pours a perfect translucent ruby brown color with minimal head retention. Smooth mouthfeel with deep cherry flavor up front followed by some toasty malt and then finishes with a little bit of a bitter alcohol bite. Well done.
