Commercial Description:
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Bottle thanks to Butters. Brown-red with a thick tan head. Lightly sticky lacing. Plummy, raisin, melty aroma. Taste is very fruity, plums, raisins, cherries, very sweet and malty.

Red chestnut with a creamy and lasting off-white head. Rich malty aroma with biscuit and dried fruit. Sweet and fruity flavour with a hint of smoke. The sweetness to some degree balanced by alcohol

Bottle shared by DuffmanSW. Pours a dark reddish brown with a yellowish tan head. Aroma is caramel, pears, and honey. Flavor is sweet with some burnt roastiness, fresh fruit, and salty caramel. Medium to full bodied, medium carb, would have liked it a bit thicker.

12oz bottle at the Winking Lizard Crosswoods location. Pours clear red with a medium tan head. Malty caramel aroma that is sort of metallic with a hint of booze. Caramel malt flavor with a dry, earthy hop finish.

Bottle. Brown/ruby pour with smallish off white head. Smells like an English ESB. Malty, hoppy, slightly sweet. I really like Founders but this one is not really my thing to be honest.

Deeeeep reddish brown with a creamy off-white head. Nice malty nose. Deep mouthfeel with a nice creamy palate. Very complex on the tongue with a bit of sweet (honey?). So much malt but combined very well. I’ve had a lot of poorly done scotch ales and they turned me off of the style. I’m glad this one is around to help redeem scotch ales for me!

Pours a deep reddish-brownish color with a small head. Whoa! this actually smells like scotch! Smoky and peaty with some mild honey notes, dammit this smells good Flavor has good notes of scotch whisky with some very good hoppiness, some apple, some cherry, and some pronounced but delicious alcohol notes.

Dark brown with hints of red in color, little head. Hints of malt in the aroma. Sweet, rich malt flavor, hints of caramel. Medium-heavy body, dry finish. I prefer this beer on tap.
