Commercial Description:
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

I was really let down by this one. I’ve been wanting some Founders, because they are rated highly and some of their brews sound delicious...but this one wasn’t it. Very nice and complex aroma and appearance, full of roasty malts, carmel, hops, and smoke. But taste wise is where this one fell apart for me. Tastes thick in some places, thin in others. Very sticky and syrupy on the back end, and the alcohol seemed to get int he way of the flavor. Almost tasted like someone threw several different brews into a blender, topped off with orange juice, vodka, and maple syrup, mixed and served. Not my cup of tea, but I can’t wait to try some of Founder’s other brews.

Had on draft at the Brew Kettle. Poured a dark ruby. Beautiful! Smelled a bit like smokey honey. Taste was sweet roasted caramel, malts and grass. I enjoyed this one immensely.

Bottle. Good hop aroma, quite sweet, hint of dust and a fruity spiciness. Dark red brown colour, very small head. Roasted flavour, also quite sweet. Good dustiness.

Pours a brown with a hint of red. Small head that continues with a ring around the glass. No lacing. Deep malt aroma. Nothing but malt. Hint of tobacco and a almost barleywine character.

Delicious. One of the tastiest and sweetest scotch ales ive ever tasted. Dark and rich. Smells like sweet coffee and a fruity hint. Not very heavy. Alcohol is not prevelent in the taste.

Tastes like a waterdown black coffee. Good beer if planning on drinking a whole six pack. Not flavorful enough for me. No aftertaste. Texture was watery.

Nice! Dark amber color with a nice head. Complex malty flavor with a hint of alcohol and toffee/caramel. From the bottle.
