Commercial Description:
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Thanks to kryptic for this bottle. Red pour with thick tan head. Great lacing. Smoked malts with coffee and bittering hops. Taste is rich with nice malts and peaty flavors. Finish is clean and slightly bitter.

12oz bottle- pours a hazy reddish brown color with a creamy tan head. Lacing lingers on the glass. Some alcohol noted in the taste along with caramel and malts. Pretty easy to drink and could have another. My first Scotch ale and it will not be my last. Very well done Founders.

This scotch ale poured a deep red colour with a big smooth creamy light brown head. Scents include caramel, chocolate, ripe fruit and spice just name a few. First taste was creamy and sweet with flavours of burnt malts, strawberry jam, mineral water, ripe fruits...this could go on forever. The finish is slightly bitter with a grassy flavour and a almost oily mouthfeel. The palate is bitter with a flavour of Vermouth???

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep mahogany color with a small disappearing tan head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt goodness with a hint of earthy peat and a whiff of alcohol. The flavor is heavy on the sweet caramel malt, a touch of fruitiness, very light smoke, earthy peat, and a touch of alcohol. There is a bit of bitterness in the finish. Medium to full bodied. Smooth and easy to drink.

Dark chestnut color. Good aroma of caramel, malt, hop. Full bodied, with a sweet flavor, mix of malt, caramel, some toffee, very good hopping, but powerful and aromatic; in the end there is some roasted malt too. Excellent American Strong Ale.

Pours a dark brown color. Small head that turns into just a green ring quickly. Tastes like coffee and malt and brown sugar and smoke. Good brew hard to down.

Pours deep garnet into a snifter. Thick tan head with excellent retention leaves sheet lacing as it slowly recedes. Smoky sweet aromas. Upfront caramel and full with a lasting sweet/sour/smoked hop finish.

Had on tap at Perly’s Bakery in Easton, PA. Pours a clear golden copper color with not much head (not sure the guy pouring the pints knew what he was doing). Smells lightly of sugar and yeast and a slight cutting citrus, lemon maybe. Tastes like a golden ale with German hops. Not too exciting.
