Commercial Description:
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Bottle: Auburn pour with a smaller beige head. Nose is sweet and malty with oak, caramel, and fruity tones. Syrupy and thick feel. Malty and dry, there is a bit of oak present with a little citrus and hints of the alcohol content. Enjoyable. Thanks Eithcubes.

Received in a bottle from a friend! :) I’ve heard a lot about this local small brewery and finally get to sample one of their beer. Rich, strong aroma. Poured a deep red-brown. Creamy small tan head that remained a very thin cap to the end., Left nice lacing. Rich, robust, slightly smoky flavor with very malty, chocolate. roasted malt and earthy taste. Very full body, thick texture, very soft carbonation with a very nice flavorful finish. This beer is one of the best ones I’ve ever enjoyed. Founders has done a great job with Dirty Bastard. I tried this in a tulip. I will definitely add this to my normal rotation of favorite beer. If you like beer dark, rich, thick and full of great flavor this is the beer for you! To me it is excellent!!

On tap at the Oasis. Have tried several times before , but this time it was in a sampler. Very nice scotch ale flavor, good sweetness in the malt with roasted and alcohol flavors.

Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors in Granite City, IL. Pours a clear burgundy/brown with a creamy tan head that diminishes to a thin cap and laces nicely. Sweet caramel malts are strong on the nose, backed by notes of raisin, plum and a light alcohol. Full-bodied, creamy and soft, it finishes with a lightly burnt/bitter end. The flavor is a sweet, creamy roasted malt front with smoked/burnt notes and a clean, dry finish. A bitter aftertaste lingers at the back of the tongue. Quite nice, I can see why it’s referred to as "Founders flagship beer".

On tap at Founders. Aroma of malts, earth, smoke, and hints of dark fruit. Strong beginning taste of sweet malt, chocolate, and smoke finishing with good alcohol taste.

Bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours brown with a very minimal head. The aroma is heavy on the malt side, some roasted malts with molasses and coffee. The flavor is of roasted malts with molasses along with oak and also smoke. There is a alcohol burn. The body is medium to full with a oily texture and soft carbonation.

I typically like Scotch Ales so when I saw this in the local beer store I picked up a 6 to try. It has a bit of a smoke aroma, a nice dark brown color and a dry finish. Overall I think it was a good find that I’ll be sure to try again in the future.

12 oz bottle from Julios. Pours a deep caramel/brown with a small tan head. Aroma is very fruity, fresh berries, loads of caramel and some peat smoke. Taste is alot of caramel, touches of chocolate, a moderate amount of fruit-sweet cherries/apple with some hints of smoke. very nice.
