Commercial Description:
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Thanks to maniac for this one. Deep amber, floaties, little head. Deep caramel aroma, hints of molasses. Flavor is fantastic, deep caramel. There isn’t much else to this, it is simple, but great.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of markgugs. Clear, reddish brown with a yellowish brown head. Fairly complex aroma of rum and overripe fruit. Has a nice, full body with notes of nuts, overripe fruit and a rather hoppy finish. Complex and very interesting. 230807

dark clear red, whispy tan head, rich sweet carmel malt aroma with a hint of earthy peat and a whisp of alcohol, good rich earthy malt flavor, great carmel sweetness that dries out over time, picks up some nice smokey peat, only a hint of bitterness to keep the balance, the new benchmark in scotch ales,

When I lived in Michigan, I didn’t buy this too often, but would have it at the Beer Fest each year. Very heavy alcohol taste that will sit with you for awhile. A complex, intense beer.

(Bottle) Pours a brown color with a nice looking tan head. Rich, smoky taste (which I really like) is balanced with some light spicy hops and a good dose of alcohol. Subtle notes of dark fruit and sweet earth as well. This is one of the better beers I’ve had from the style.

12oz bottle from EithCubes - thanks, Mike! Now this is my kinda Scotch ale. Big and bold, with malts just pouring out and a big peaty aroma. Very rich and smooth, with a strong butterscotch note in the middle, balanced by a bit of dry spice towards the very end. Quite fine.

Bottle: Dark amber, mahogany, light head and lacing. Nose of bright alcohol and earthy hops overshooting the sweet caramelly malts. Some chewy toffee. The flavor is nice and chewy, rich raisin and plum notes. Thick mouthfeel, creamy sweet, bright and fruit. Light hops, nice scotch.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy purplish-brown color with a medium light-brown head. Nice lacing. Aroma is very malty with a sweet fruitiness to it. Very nice mouthfeel. Flavor is very strong, with malt, alcohol, caramel, and an almost smoke flavor to it. Interesting and tasty beer. Strong Scottish Ale for fans of the style.
