KimJohansen (6676), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 28, 2009 Dark amber with with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with toasted malt, caramel and hops and overripe fruits. Sweet flavour with toasted malt, caramel, ripe fruits, hops and pine. Finished bitter. yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 27, 2009 12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown and amber with a small off-white head. Roasted caramel malty aroma with a distinct fruity hops note, light wooden. Fruity, light metallic, roasted caramel and prune flavoured. Growing bitterness into a overripe fruity flavoured finish. andersand (271), Malmö, Sweden Aug 26, 2009 Nice deep red colour with a small off-white head that leaves some great lazing on my tulip. Aroma is subtile malty with notes of carmelized sugar, malty fruit and some yeast. Flavour is similar but more with a fairly big fruity, sweet malt flavour hitting you right away. The brew finishes sweet and malty with candy like fruit notes and some almost burnt sugar alongside a good back bitterness. The body is smooth and fairly full. douglas88 (1557), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Aug 26, 2009 12 oz bottle thanks to kryptic. Pours a awesome ruby color with a thick beige head and lots of lacing. The aroma is pure Scotch Ale; rich fruity malts, dusty and full with some caramel as well. A sweet fruity flavor with loads of dry dustiness, light caramel and smoky berries. Very nice and drinkable. A good bit of alcohol warmth in the flavor- which is fine with me. dand645 (75), Bayonne, New Jersey, USA Aug 25, 2009 rich red pour with a quickly diminishing offwhite head, great lacing...nose is of sweet dried fruits... flavor is malty, sweetness, and a lingering hop finish drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 25, 2009 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Had this awhile back and don’t remember specifics, but a nice brew. SamGamgee (1396), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Aug 24, 2009 12oz bottle from Archer. Brown color with some red highlights and a small head. Malty aroma with caramel and sweet dried fruit that gets brighter as the beer warms up. The flavor is much of the same, with dried fruit and caramel, but with a surprising amount of hop flavor and bitterness that is just a bit musty and dull. Medium-full body with lower carbonation. Nice overall, but the hops just didn’t work very well for me. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Aug 23, 2009 Not sure if this is courtesy photomike or SamGamgee. Pours a ruddy rusty brown with a pinkish ecru head. Smokey aroma with some acidity, dark bready malts, light prunes, scotch. Flavor is light on peat but still with a nice smoked character. Dark breads make up the heft of the beer with accents of prunes and alcohol. Some mild hop bitterness in the finish. Nice medium full body.
