outtacontrol62 (1), Missouri, USA does not count Aug 23, 2009 A dark copper/red ale with just a hint of tan head, leaves nice lace. Aroma is very malty with a whiff of the alcohol breaking through. All of that malt in the aroma comes through in the flavor, along with an unexpected shot of hop bitterness in the finish. A nice take on the style and sure to be a regular in my fridge from now on! roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 19, 2009 Pours a hazy copper color with nice layer of offwhite head. Aroma is caramel, dark fruits and some boozy ruminess to it. Flavor is nice strong caramel sweetness mixed with sweet dark fruit flavors. Reminds me of some raspberry caramel chocolates I’ve had before. Finish is bitter, dry and roasty with a hint of boozy warmth. Very nice beer. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA Aug 18, 2009 Bottle. Pours a murky dark brown with abundant haze. Nose is sweet, dark malt with some slight bourbon notes, and some faint dark, dried fruits. Taste is smooth and creamy, dark malts, undertones of bourbon/scotch, and the taste of dry, dark fruits (fig, plum, etc) comes through slightly in the background. Alcohol is not overpowering, and finish is rewarding. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice complex palate going on. WoW! This one is a Winner!
