Very delicious beer. Nice, complex aroma; with a thick, lacey head. Some sediment in the bottom of the glass was the only negative. Malty start with a smooth, tasty finish. A little boozy, but a great session sipper.

A very good scotch ale. Medium body and creamy. Grassy and leafy hops sit on bready, cracker maltiness. Some peat, not real sweet, nutty, alcohol is mostly hidden and faint raisin.

A nice strong ale that doesn’t totally taste of alcohol. Bitter and peaty for sure. Mildly sweet and nutty. Not bad.

Bottle, 355 ml from Svijet Piva, Zagreb. Pours hazy brown with a small head. Dried fruits, caramel, liquorice, toffee. Sweet. Has alcohol note which I disliked. Can’t say I’m thrilled with this one.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a mahogany-ruby red with one finger tan head which fades to pretty nice lacing. Aroma is of toffee, caramel, sweet malts, smoke, bread pudding, toasted bread, butterscotch, and brown sugar. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma with the addition of some light grassy and piney hops. Has a medium-full body with a creamy mouthfeel and a semi bitter, slightly dry, medium-long finish. Overall, a tasty, complex, well balanced scotch ale that is overly sweet like a lot of beer is the style.

couleur brun-rouge; petite mousse brune; arômes fruités et maltés; goût un peu vineux; un peu trop d’alcool et de douceur

Wine color red with a thick tan foam. Deep malt aromatics of toast and biscuit. There is a slight raisin that hides away. Light carbonation but medium/full body. Toffee and and bread flavors have a touch of smoke in the finish.

Not much oomph for a Scottish ale... Would enjoy a heartier flavor!! Skfjkdkdkkdjjdjdjidehebebbdicnbeibrbdojd

Bottle picked up at ’Jacks’ Westholme Store, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at Mums, Worcester, Thames, Friday 28th November 2014. Pours dark brown with light beige head. Huge toffee flavours dominate, lots of bitter sticky bonfire toffee. Yes this is sticky and warming with the alcohol noticeable but to be fair it is far from harsh. It is soft in the mouth a little creamy, really pleasant. Far easier to drink than you’d think. Nice, in fact it works well it is really nice if a tad one dimensional. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
