COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Pours a dark reddish brown with a slight tannish white head that quickly dies off. The beer has a spicy, sweet aroma of malts, caramel, vanilla and brown sugar. Flavor is full or malts up front with a lot of raisin and figs. The taste is kind of earthy with some alcohol on the finish, just the right amount to know its there but doesn?t overwhelm. The body on this one is medium to heavy, almost syrupy with low to medium carbonation. Overall a great beer, one of my favorite scotch ales.

Damn tasty. Dark red brownish pour thin head. Lots of malt and some peat aroma. Toffee and caramel with peat and roasted peanuts. Very tasty and a nice to go beer. Medium body light carbonation.

Deep ruby-brown with no head. Smells like peat, licorice, dark fruit. Taste is quite smoky; lots of peat, some sweetness. Hops give it a crisp backbone. Very good.

Bottle - small foamy head, nice dark amber color, sweet rich malty aroma and flavor with a hint of smoke - very good for a scotch style ale (which I am normally not a big fan of) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy red/brown with a beige ring around the edge of the glass. Aroma has caramel, lots of sweetness and vanilla. Taste is as above but with a small hop bite. Medium/full body, soft carbonation. Dry after taste.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique August 2013. Another very good scotch ale from these guys. Big vanilla and toffee notes and a smooth almost rum like flavour.

Poured from 355mL bottle. Copper brown with full beige head. Aroma has lots of caramel malt, some subtle chocolate, and toffee. Same taste with a bit of alcohol. A little lighter bodied than I would’ve thought.

Deep dark brown very murky color, thin tan head. Fairly faint aroma overall, semisweet, roasty. More roasty flavor as well, semisweet, chocolate. Moderate bitterness. High carbonation for style.

Bottle - pours deep ruby with a big of white head. The aroma alludes to a big beer, lots or rich sweet caramel malt, dried fruit and burnt sugar. Taste sweet up front before transitioning into a mellow caramel and dry finish. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy.

Bottle, 0.355l. Hazy dark brown color with small creamy tan-like head and poor lacing. Aroma of strong caramel, dried fruits, dandelion syrup and cask wood. Taste starts with smooth and rich maltiness, follows by dried fruits and alcohol, mouth coating, while finish is almost without any bitterness. Full body, syrupy texture and average carbonation in palate. Damn strong scotch ale...
