Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

It pours a dark brown and yields the same color body. The body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. There is a spectacular looking foamy, somewhat spider web lacing. The one inch white head dies within several seconds. The smell has the caramel up front with a bit of toffee, tobacco, and some dark fruits. The taste is basically the same with a bit of chocolate coming out. The palate is about a medium with an exceptionally smooth feel all around. There isn’t any sharpness on the tongue. The alcohol does come out a bit, but its not overbearing, still drinkable for the most part. Overall, this is very impressive.

Copenhagen 28/6 2015. 35,5 cl bottle from Meny. A grinning presumably Scottish, dirty bastard on the label. Pours clear dark brown with off-white head. Dissipates to thin layer of foam almost immediately. Strong aroma of fermented dark fruits, sweetness, oak and caramel. Soft carbonation. Taste is sweet at first - caramel and drops - a little boozy alcohol. Some whisky in the aftertaste. Nice brown, boozy sensation - and pretty nice for Americans imitating the Scots.

Corpo medio, mediamente carbonata.

Bottle. Pours is dark ruby with medium beige head. Spicy aroma of caramel, raisins, figues, hints of vanilla and some yeast, very pleasant. Taste is light bitter, medium sweet with heavy fruity flavour, mainly figues, raisins and coconut. Full body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Very good!

Promises a lot with lots of malts, hops and even peat but is real disappointment for me. Medium mouth. Lots of malts but something bothers me and tjis beer just is not so enjoyable.

Beautiful deep ruby color with little to no head; aroma is very light...some caramel maybe? Taste is robust! Huge floral and fruit (figs, raisins) notes developing to a roasted caramel and some hop resin to finish; mouthfeel is just right...not too thick or thin and just a touch of carbonation. Really just missed on the aroma. Everything else is great!

Bottle, The Hop Beer Shop, Chelmsford, 12th June 2015 . Loads of raisins, wood and oak barrels on aroma Some gorgeous textures. Some vanilla and leather. Really nice balance. Drinks really well. Just a lot of raisins on the flavour. More Rochefort than Scottish ale.
