COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

On tap at Founders. The pour is a nice ruby color with an off white head that fades down to a film, leaving sporadic lace. The aroma is heavy on molasses and dark fruits with a lovely maltiness enshrined throughout. The flavors are much of the same. There is a light sweetness that comes through, and is greatly appreciated. The mouth feel is a little thin, but the flavors are big and last a decent amount past the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Finally found this in my local super market. Pours dark brown and slightly redish, the off-white head fates away quickly. Sweet aroma of caramel, raisins and dried fruit. Nice full taste with some punchy caramel notes, some spicy notes and dried fruit. Compared to the price this is a very nice beer.

Can’t believe I haven’t tried this until now. Pours dark reddish brown with tan head. Caramel, citrus, nuts, chocolate, vanilla, butterscotch. Moderately bitter and sweet. A bit of sourness. Full, creamy body.

Both abv and taste match. It’s a little much but they were meant to be. Had bottled.

35 cl bottle at a retailer in Manhattan, NY, around $4. brown color, almost clear, thin fune yellowish head. Roasted malts on the nose already. Aroma is well loaded of dark malts, nuts, hazelnut, caramel, vanilla and mild chocolate, while a proper amount of bittering hops balances it very well. Taste is quite bitter and has a nice play. Very rich overall, tasty, umami. The 8.5% is not overwhelming, the texture is smooth and silky, soft carbonation. The finish is pleasing with a brandy-ish leftover. Very very good.

Old rating. Great scotch ape. Brown-red. Sweet malts, mild bitterness, some smokiness. Well balanced.

Pours a dark red with almost no head. Aroma of caramel, raisin and a little fruity. Taste the same, but caramel prevail. Good stuff, but one glass is enough.
