Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer ďainít fer the wee ladsĒ

Nice mild aromas from caramel to vanilla with a little bit of spice. Beautiful Amber color, exactly what you would want from a scotch ale. Nice bitter taste when it hits the palate, as you get the finish a good peat taste overall well pleased

Rich, sweet, complex brew with lots of tart, bittersweet fruits. Heavy on the malts and with a fair amount of alcohol on the finish. Tastes much like a Doppelbock.

From the bottle, pours a very dark brown with a thick off white head. Smells like the reason I got into beer. Aromas of caramel malts dominate, with a rich freshness that gets you excited to drink it. Rich and smooth up front, flavors of malt, caramel, a light, earthy bitterness to balance out the silky mouthfeel, a hint of cherries. Much better in a glass (should go without saying), really good overall beer.

355 ml bottle. Hazy dark reddish brown colour, thin tan head. Lovely aroma of sweet dried fruits, caramel malt, notes of wood. The flavour is toasted malty, with caramel, dark fruits, woody notes and a moderately bitter finish. Delicious.

Sample from tap. Clear ruby red and golden. Smell is roasted malt with sweet caramel. Taste is roasted malt, warm alcohol, sugar and nutty. A bit unbalanced in my opinion. Sweet with medium bitterness and medium carbonation.

Bottle. Dark brown, hazy, small to average fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and dark bread and with light dark fruitiness with light hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light dark bread, light hoppyness and fruitiness with light alcohol. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light roasted malt, light metal, light hoppyness and some alcohol. Your typical Scotch Ale - really nothing special. For those with sweet tooth.

Cunningham (4682) - Halden, NORWAY - OCT 25, 2014
Clear deep amber nutty color with a fine off white head. Looks really nice. Lovely aroma. Fruity, raisins, toffee and caramel. Full to medium body. A bit sweet, but not to sweet. Stays on the right side. A bit oily texture. This beer really invades your mouth, and stays there. Lovely. Toffee, caramel, fruity, raisins and prunes.

Bottle from Alko. A bit hazy ruby coloured beer. Sweet maltiness, some toffee, ripe fruits and hops. I feel itís a bit like a barley wine and disappointed a little. Had better and more interesting Scotch ales in Italy.

TET (1697) - FINLAND - OCT 19, 2014
A very dark brown beer with a weak and light brown head. The nose is complex and quite sweet, caramel, raisins, strawberries, wood, generic dried fruits, hint of roasted bread and chocolate. Taste isnít so sweet than aroma. Taste has dried fruits, raisins, dry wood, bread, clear and nice bitterness in the end. Even the more sweetness of fruits could be there. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation, easy to drink, anyway. Very complex, at least the aroma. Good beer.

Pours a dark ruby brown with very small thin head which lingers. On the nose there is dark dried fruits like raisins and prunes, brown sugar, caramel, a bit of smoke, resin and wood. Taste initially is highly sweet which lasts throughout but is balanced with enough bitterness to make it work. Quite a thick and oily mouth feel, rather nice!
