Rich, strong aroma. Poured a deep red-brown. Creamy small tan head that remained a very thin cap to the end., Left nice lacing. Rich, robust, slightly smoky flavor with very malty, chocolate. roasted malt and earthy taste. Very full body, thick texture, very soft carbonation with a very nice flavorful finish. This beer is one of the best ones I’ve ever enjoyed. Founders has done a great job with Dirty Bastard. I tried this in a tulip. I will definitely add this to my normal rotation of favorite beer. If you like beer dark, rich, thick and full of great flavor this is the beer for you! To me it is excellent!! ScotYankBard (16), USA

The aroma is caramely, malty, slightly toasty and slightly alcoholic. It has a wonderful Scotch Ale color. The flavor matches the style while still incorporating hops more than many other Scotch Ales. The palate is smoother though still retains a gritty heaviness. Overall.......YEAH!!! I LOVE IT. GREAT JOB FOUNDERS. fschouten (2), Manteno, Illinois, USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Aug 24, 2008 A great scotch ale and pours with little head. Bitterness in the aftertaste with little hint of the alcohol content. Great with food or as an evening treat. Quyntarious (32), Ohio, USA

Small, creamy off-white head. Earthy, sweet, peaty, chocolatey, vineous, alcoholic aroma and flavor. In other words, It’s as a Scotch ale should be. Full-bodied and oily with mild carbonation. Sweet, malty-as-all-hell, red hot finish. Terrific! A big THANKS to growler for the bottle!
