Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer ďainít fer the wee ladsĒ

Horrid. Really horrid. Zero aroma other than maybe some old bad burned rubber tire. It might look good, but how can you have so much malt and yet so little taste. The only thing you get from this dredge is burning down the throat. Maybe just a hint of bitter but otherwise astoundingly tasteless. I donít mean bad tasting, I mean literally like it was water. If this is a flagship, wave the flag of surrender. So tasteless. No wonder it was discounted from $11, you canít sell it at $6.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Great, rich, malty aroma. No head on it at all. Alcohol is totally masked by carmel n scotch essence. My first scotch ale, thought it was great.

Dark ruby color with small head. Very rich chocolate malt aroma, boozy, dark fruits. Sweet rich chocolate taste, bitterness towards the finish. Low to middle carbonation, sticky mouthfeel. Very good!

I am not a big fan of Scotch Ale but this IS A Whole new ball game . The mouth feel IS perfect . Almost Reminds me of a Belgian Double minus the yeast, Candied creamy goodness. Sorry about the upper case letters. Tried writing this review by hand writing with my s pen.

Bottle from strait and narrow, Lincoln. Dark ruby brown with no head. Stinks! Very ífarmyí ie smells like manure, not necessarily a bad thing though. Taste is ridiculous malty treacley goodness, lovely. Tingly carbonation and a fairly full body.

Dark reddish brown color, small beige head. Aroma of caramel, malt, dried fruits, wood, spice. Taste has similar notes - sweet with bitter finish and lightly dry aftertaste. Medium to full body, average carbonation, warming touch of alcohol. Nice beer, rich and complex taste.

Nice reddish brown colour with pretty head and lots of lacing. Aroma has nuts, citrus, red berries, caramel malts and some roasted notes. Taste has caramel malts, citrus hops, some pine and wood. Full and soft body, medium carbonation. Excellent scotch ale, so much flavours in great balance.

Decided to try this after seeing that Founders was rated #1 in the top 50 breweries in the USA by The Daily Meal. I havenít had a better beer that was brewed anywhere. As their website says, at 8.5% this "ainít for the wee lads". Exquisite beer.

Not a big fan of scotch ales, but this is different. Nice creamy finish is what hits you first, and a beautiful brown color. Good brew.
