COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Bottle. Pours clear deep amber ruby with good off white head and lace diminishing. Big malty aroma, deep complexity, chocolate, burnt toffee, continental pils feel, a touch of peat, wheat and yeast character. Hops are about but overshadowed by a nice complex med malt aroma. Medium chewy body, good bitterness, big malty sweet burnt toffee caramel character finishing with a good peat malt character, toffee and munich malts. Hop character is present throughout. Again the peat lingers well on through the complex malt forward finish.

Bottle picked up at ’Jacks’ Westholme Store, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at Mums, Worcester, Thames, Friday 28th November 2014. Pours dark brown with light beige head. Huge toffee flavours dominate, lots of bitter sticky bonfire toffee. Yes this is sticky and warming with the alcohol noticeable but to be fair it is far from harsh. It is soft in the mouth a little creamy, really pleasant. Far easier to drink than you’d think. Nice, in fact it works well it is really nice if a tad one dimensional. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle from Bacchus Wine, Olney. Hazy chocolate brown. Heavy scent if molasses, caramel, toast. Gooey sweet malty taste, followed by a bittersweet finish. Very nice but less memorable than Founders best beers.

Toasty, sweet and warming. Bittersweet toffee after taste in the back of the throat. A beast. Is there any real difference between a Scotch Ale and a Wee Heavy? I’ve tried most of available contenders. Whatever, this brew rocks and will occupy a space in my frig through the winter until it is dethroned.

12 oz bottle shared from Total Wine & More - Gilbert, AZ. Lightly smoky, rich and malty with notes of caramel, toffee, earth and peat. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Medium to full body with a nice balanced finish. Pretty easy to drink, but a nice one to sip on. Well done.

Hazy reddish brown in color with no head. Sweet, malt, alcohol aroma. Starts bold then fades nicely. Good sweetness and bitterness, taste a bit like a Belgian. The alcohol I smelt is also in the taste, hard to look past this. Good beer

Chestnut brown with a medium-fine, old-newspaper-colored head. Moderate rate of decay. Aroma of caramel, and deciduous forest after a rain, with a slight bit of alcohol. Toffee. Body is medium, low-medium carbonation with little burn. Somewhat syrupy due in part to lower carbonation.. Flavor is light caramel with a small, spicy hop bitterness to balance. Lingers but is not astringent in any way. Some mineral notes in there. Overall, a very nice scotch ale - drinkable and no smoke.

Buona!
