Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Malt, nuts, and a little roasty smoke in the aroma. More of the same in the flavor, with some smoke, hop bitterness, and a fair amount of alcohol in the finish. Really good, but not for the squeamish.

Pours a very dark brownish ruby color with a thin fizzling beige head, Aroma is of slightly sour dark fruit. I taste subtle hops, dark fruit. A bit of sweetness and tart. Pretty good.

Bottle. Very dark ruby. Big malt richness with peaty smoke and some hoppy bitterness. One of the classics that made me love craft beer. An excellent strong ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Redemption Alewerks. Heavy chocolate aroma with a little bit of coffee. Taste is heavy on the chocolate in the front with a little coffee after ending with a very plesent malty bitterness. Absolutely fantastic stout.

Bottle pour, deep amber with small tan head, decent lacing. Aroma of Pilsner malts and yeast. Taste is boozy with light malt taste, and plenty of hop bitterness. Not enough sweet to balance the gravity and bitterness. I'd consider this just an average strong ale. ---Rated whilst imbibing

Bottle to shaker glass. Pours clear deep red mahogany, almost no head, lacing or retention. Aroma of roasted malts, smoke and nuts. Taste is malty sweet and nice bitter hop balance. Full bodied, faint carbonation, chewy mouth feel. Finishes complex with notes of smoky malts, dates, plum, anise, earthy bitter herbs and slight alcohol. Excellent example of the style. Good ale.

Deep red brown pour with a nice lasting off white head. Aroma is nutty, molasses, and toast with a hint of peat. Taste follows but has an odd sharpness in the finish. Sweet and malty. Medium body.

A very good scotch ale. Medium body and creamy. Grassy and leafy hops sit on bready, cracker maltiness. Some peat, not real sweet, nutty, alcohol is mostly hidden and faint raisin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
