COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”

Bottle. The pour was a murky medium brown with a copper hue and had an average sized (1-2 finger) light brown rocky head that dissipated quickly but left a thin layer of foam that created some fair lacing. The aroma was a bit on the sweet side with roasted bread malts, an herbal hop and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of raisons, molasses and a mild alcohol scent. The taste was sweet and malty with a hint of molasses in the beginning and finished a bit bitter, with a touch of raisons and a mild alcohol tinge at the end that left the flavor to linger for a nice long while. Mouthfeel was somewhere between medium and full in body and was rather dry in texture with a soft carbonation. Overall an extremely tasty brew with the alcohol flavor kept to a minimum, yet still allowing for a nice warming sensation after the swallow.

Bottle from Ruprai, Birmingham. Really well balanced and tasty beer. Red brun coleur. Sticky gobfeel. Beguiling, growing taste: rich choc grain, with warming faintly burnt cereal hops. Hangs together great. Classy.

Pours out a murky brown/maroon with very little head. Aroma is fruits with a little coffee. The two most prominent flavors are fruit and dark chocolate which bring to mind fancy liqueur chocolates. There’s a strong roasted presence as well as some brown sugar sweetness. Thick mouthfeel with active bubbles. Bottled Nov 2014, enjoyed August 2015.

Backlog from lost & found notes: Aroma of malty toffee, earth, fruits, raisins and toffee (yeah twice!). Taste is thick and thoughts go to syrup. Sweet brown sugar, dark bread, christmas fruits, toffee, heavy malts. Awesome!

I am not a huge fan of Scotch so it shouldn’t be a huge surprise that I am not a fan of this at all. If you are not a fan of scotch you should totally avoid this.

On tap at La Tape. Grainy aroma, and then grains, and grains, and grains. Tastes grainy again with some bitter almonds notes. Fruity in the end. Easy one for 8,5%!!. I have enjoyed it. Good.

Aroma of dried fruits, fruits, caramel and some roasted notes. Deer amber with a tan head. Medium to heavy sweet and medium bitter. Full body with a average to soft carbonation. Overall a very good Scotch Ale, really rich and deep flavour with some warming alcohol in the back. Enjoyable.
