An imperial IPA that was brewed to turn your world upside down. Hops have got you coming and going. Pungent aromatics up front paired with a malt balanced backbone and a smooth bitter finish. 86 IBUs.

Hazy yellow of color with a nice white head. An aroma of pines, sweers, hops and spice. A flavor of pines, grapefruits, hops, grass, sweets and a dry finish.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2011 OH MY! This is a wonderful beer. Suits all my desires for a brew. Really starting to think Founders may be my favorite brewer. Shame is, this stuff is so hard to find......sadness.

My Bottom Line:
Citrusy and perfumy hops dally within this Double IPA’s sugary pale cereals, leading to a sustained grassy hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A great head of foam garnishes the misty blond.
-This is very drinkable for a 9% brew.
-Carbonation is effervescent yet not aggressive.
-Alcohol only offers a little heat.
-Hops are a tad soapy at times.

A nose of toffee, candy, syrup and soil. Taste is of ruccula-salad, butter, grass, soil and citrus. Bitterness is fairly low, finish is salty and slightly alcoholic. Not a typical DIPA - elegant and drinkable!

Aroma of dust, toffee, cacao, citrus and flowers. Appearance is amber with small white head. Flavor of hops, caramel, toffee and citrus. Overall a very good DIPA that’s not to aggressive and very candy like.

Pours a nice cloudy orange with a very thin white head. The caramel aroma had me a little concerned that this would be an overly sweet double IPA, but that is not the case. Plenty of grapefruit and pine, a bitter finish, and some alcohol warmth, but remarkably smooth and well balanced. Very well done.

Bottle from Beermerchants in the UK. Hazy yellow pour with a decent fluffy white head. Fabulous hoppy, grassy aroma. Tastes bitter, citrus fruit, hoppy, malty, hint of sweetness, crisp, grapefruit. Wonderful lingering aftertaste. An outstanding DIPA, wish I had more in the cupboard.

Bottle in trade with quierocerveza. Moochass gassy-ass! Nose is strong pine and citrus hops. First bite is alaso along those lines. A hazy yellow with a tight thin head. Nose rounds sweet as the grain breathing balances out the hop harshness. Surpisingly drinkable and creamy even with the everpresent hopness (there...I used Bonster’s word). Wooop! Wooooop!
