4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2009 Out of the bottle. So glad they bottled this. Pours a dark straw color with a nice white head. Aroma is great, grapefruit and pine, huge citrus notes. Flavor cuts right to the hops, a little grassy, but not too much. Resinous hops for sure with a bitter finish. Very hop forward and delicious. One of the best new DIPA’s I have tried in awhile.
Re-rate: had this on tap at the brewery. Huge grapefruit notes and super fresh. It was really nice. What I wouldn’t give to have this tapped all the time.
Re-rate: Just tried a super fresh batch at Founders over the weekend. Apparently it was a small batch they did out of season. The aroma was incredible, huge grapefruit, pine and citrus. The taste was super fresh too. I bumped it up a few points. Really one of the freshest and most appetizing DIPA’s I have had in awhile.

this is simply one of the most gorgeous IPA’s ever made! The aroma is beautiful. I literally smelled it for five minutes before I even drank it. All I could say was "wow"!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is dominate of citrus and pine hops, and some caramel hops. Resiny flavor with the citrus and pine hops. Pretty decent bitter finish. Lingering bitter finish. Nice balance.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle courtesy of fiver29, thanks John!
Pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pine, hops, touch of malt. Flavor is oily resinous citrusy hops, grapefruit and just the right amount of malt to balance out the bitterness. Very fresh hoppy and well done IIPA. Good Stuff.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
4 Pack purchased at Rozi’s. Aroma is more on the pine side of the hop spectrum. There is a very clean bitterness to it, not sweet and citrus-y, but more like a pure acidic bitterness. This would go nicely with something gentle like grilled salmon. The bitterness lingers a little after each sip without as much flavor as some IIPA’s.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Courtesy SoLan. Pours a light orange color, with a medium, bubble white head. Smells of big piney hops, with touches of grapefruit citrus, and light mals. The flavor was very hoppy as well, not quite as balanced as id like though. The bitterness is there, but not much of the hop profile I would enjoy. Still pretty tasty and sharp on the palate, but I think my hopes were a little higher than what this showed me.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Copper-orange pour into a snifter. The usual IIPA aroma. But the flavor is not that of an IIPA. I think it is very mild compared to some of the more well know michigan IPA’s. Its not bad at all its very drinkable considering the Higher ABV. Very clean finish and very drinkable. And added point for the cool art work.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice golden color with a small, somewhat creamy looking, canvas colored head. Big fruity aroma. Ruby red grapefruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, mango, and tropical fruit. Perhaps a bit sweet smelling, but it is fresh and lively. Light pale malt start that actually carries all the way through. A noble feat by any brewers standards. Middle has grapefruit flesh and zest and a touch of alcohol. Slightly warming in the stomach. Finish is rather citric and bitter. Linger is not real long, but I do seem to have some hops resin stuck in my mouth. Good stuff.
