Pours a light amber/orange with a thin filmy white head that leaves lots of lacing. The aroma is lightly sweet fruit and has a wonderful resiny, piney, grapefruity quality that begs you take take a drink. Flavor is decidedly bitter with a nice caramel backbone. Nice fruitiness as well. Medum ot full bodied Finish is very dry, long and citrusy bitter. I say 2 thumbs up for Devil Dancers replacement!

Bottle. Pours cloud orange with a small white head. Aroma is very flowery, soapy and citrusy, with orange, lemon, tangerine and grapefruit. Flavor is full of hoppy bitterness, right from the get go. Definitely one of the more assertive hop drinks I’ve had in awhile. Grapefruit, underripe blood orange, and kumquat come to mind. Finish is a touch sharp, full of citrus, and lasting.

Pours a cloudy yellow with a nice white head. Wonderful IPA citrusy bitter aroma that gets the saliva flowing. Swallow, then take that first inhaling through the nose sip. Tastes strong of grapefruit bitter, with notes of pine. Overall, this is a great IIPA that isn’t overbearing. Alcohol is hidden very well. Thoroughly enjoyed.

12oz bottle from Sam’s. Pours a clear yellow with a soapy white head and a distinct citrus and piney nose that isn’t too complex but is quite inviting. Piney citrus, grapefruit flavors that are strongly bitter and resiny. Not too complex or malty but bitter and delicious - how a good DIPA should be.

[Bottle] Pours a clear amber with a medium beige head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma is citric hops and some malt backbone. Flavor matches aroma with significant bitterness building as I drink it. Lots of grapefruit, a touch of mango, and hop resins.

UPDATED: JAN 14, 2010 Great aroma, nice brilliant gold color with a quickly dissipating head. The flavor is way too harsh and bitter. Highly resinous, not much in the way of a pleasing hop flavor. Not a big fan of this... Rating = 3.5 Re-Rate...2010 Version. Aroma is even better than last year, tons of citrusy, grapefruit and all that good stuff. But the biggest improvement for me is the lack of the really metallic astringent bitterness. This stuff is amazing this year. Rating = 4.2

Not sure why I haven’t bought more of this tasty beer. Lovely tropical fruits on the nose. Some pine and resiny hops as well as sweet malts. Bummed that the taste gave me much more resin than fruitiness. Surprisingly pale pour. Need to buy and try again!

Pours turbid dark straw, more gold than brown, with 2-finger fluffy, well retained head. Nose is wet hops, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, honeydew. This is as good as it gets for an IPA/IIPA aroma. Tastes of dripping wey resiny hops, solid caramel malt to back up all the hops, and mid-palate tropical fruit and black peppery notes. The palate is complex, rich, and smooth. This is another outstanding IPA, with amazingly well hidden alcohol.

Had this after hopslam. just doesnt quite compare, however this is a fantastic IIPA. Pours out coppery color with a decent beige head on it. Aroma hoppy and full of citrus. flavor is also hoppy with a nice grassy dry citrus finish.

Thanks kiefdog for the share. Pours hazy gold with a white head. Strong nose of caramel, heavy grapefruit, and clean-finishing citrus. Flavor is lots of malt to back up the assertive grapefruit flavor in the hops. Finishes clean and excellent- leaves me wanting more.
