Pours a clear bright oranged yellow with a thin white head, heterogeneous. The nose is light sweet malt laced through and through with bright fruity hops. Citrus mango, a tiny bit of resin, not terribly bitter, but very very hop-filled nose. Fresh! Fuller body with subdued and appropriate carbonation. The flavor is a hoppy explosion in the mouth. Really alive with fruity hops like the nose, but perhaps a bit more resinous. Accentuated by the alcohol, giving the light astringency a little bit of a refreshing edge to it. The malt is just almost enough to balance the hops, but not quite. This is not Devil Dancer’s little brother on the hop bill. The bitterness is serious, but completely in line with the juicy herbal hops. This is an easy drinker of a 9.4% IIPA! Perhaps drinks itself more quickly than Hopslam... perhaps better? Good grief, and I love Devil Dancer, but this is even better. Proof that more is not always better. Hopslam good at half the price!

12oz bottle from Bobby91w, thanks! Clear golden with a 1/2 finger creamy off-white head, fair retention that clings to the sides. Loads of fruity hops in the aroma--citrus, pineapple, and mango--as well as resiny pine, with a tinge of cotton candy, plenty of caramel malts, and some spicy alcohol lurking behind. Flavor continues to be pretty hop forward, though turning a bit more sprucy and taking the fruit back a bit. Nice semi-dry finish with bitterness peaking around a 6, and a little alcohol warming my belly. I like how there is a flavorful caramel background as opposed to nothing with some DIPAs, but also I would never call this sweet. Full body with creamy light to moderate carbonation. Fantastic DIPA.

12 oz bottle from Archer Liquors. Pours light orange with a medium white head. Aroma of hops with some citrus and pine. Crisp hop flavor that is somewhat peppery and a bite in the finish. Palate is medium full to full bodied and oily soft. A good IIPA with a big bittet finish. World class taste. Founders is really kicking ass right now.

Another real nice one from Founders. Had this a number of times on tap and bottle, and its always refreshing. Standard IIPA for the most part. Pronounced hops throughout, although its balanced pretty well and a couple will have you feeling pretty well with 9%. Smooth and easy to drink.

Brewed in the USA...... On tap at the Brass Rail. Pours a hazy yellow color with a med-creamy head and some nice lacing. Aroma is floral with some mild citrus notes. Taste kind of like butterscotch with some lingering hop bitterness at the finish. The mouthfeel was smooth, well balanced. The 9.4% was extremely well hidden and left you wanting more and more.

On draft at The Brass Rail. Tapped a lightly hazed gold topped by a lasting, creamy head. Both the nose and flavors mirrored each other perfectly, smooth and citrusy, a bit of pine, with a burst of sweetness on the back end. While the beer does have a good deal of bitterness it doesn’t destroy your taste buds the way so many other DIPAs do. I could still taste my dinner and I was glad for that. This was a very delicious and at 9.4% abv dangerous DIPA, very smooth with no alcohol flavor.

12oz bottle. pours light gold with white head. aroma of pine, tropical fruit, and citrus with a little alcohol and pale malt in the background. flavors of pinnapple, mango, pine, and citrus. a noticible but not unpleasent finish of alcohol and hop bitterness cleansing the palate. tasty brew but not an all out hop bomb, more of a nicely done subtle example of the style, reminds me of Founders Harvest with how clean it finishes.

Bottle at Jerry’s. Deep gold with good, creamy white head / Big, fresh pineapple and hop nose / Medium body, smooth and creamy, with excellent balance and smooth, only slightly biting finish / Flavors of fresh pineapple, cream, and dry hops, with notes of oranges and caramel / Fresh, smooth, and elegant, effortlessly masking its big alcohol.
