UPDATED: MAY 26, 2012 Bottle 355 ml. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Nose is of citrus, passion fruit, hops, pine and malt. There’s also slight notes of tropical fruits and banana . Taste is medium sweet, with slight note of citrus, pine and malt. Medium body and a long duration of aftertaste. Overall, good refreshing DIPA. Good drinkability and a nice fruitiness.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2012 Aroma is pine hips and citrus and a sweet malt background is evident. Not too strong of an aroma. Taste is a bit of a letdown at first. Just not as much hops or bitter as I’d want in a dipa. That being said very interesting hop profile. Pine hops and juicy grapefruit hops. Very smooth. Very sweet as well. It balances this out a bit too much as hops don’t take centerstage. A bit fruity maybe peach. Thicker palate than I’m used to in ipas. To be honest I found founders centennial a lot better. Very easy drinking for abv, a bit dangerous.

12 oz bottle pours a clear golden color with a fluffy white head. Nose is full of citrus and piney hops. Aroma is what I expect from a double IPA but not quite as much of a hop bomb as many other double IPA’s I’ve tried. (This should be classified as an Imperial/Double IPA instead of in the crowded field of normal IPAs.) Taste is somewhat bitter but with malts coming out in the finish. Average body and carbonation. This one hides the high ABV very well. Cool label (which reminds me of the much inferior Rinkusklai Before and After). A very well crafted beer which I’ll try again.

From beerlicious iphone app: Draft. Citrus aromas. Pale hazy color with minimal white head. Medium bitterness and finishes heavy on the bitterness. Medium body with a sticky creamy feel. Average carbonation.

Very light orange in color, cloudy, almost no head. Very nice citrusy and grassy aroma. Oranges and grapefruit mostly. Huge hop flavor and bitterness up front. Nice malt backbone. Aftertaste could be better though. Not my favorite double ipa but still good.

Bottle Date: 12/23/11 Very nice golden orange pour. Thick foamy white head, carbonation is not a problem. The nose: piny hoppiness, citrus and a little bit of sweet smelling malt and a floral background. Medium bodied on the tongue. Perfect bitterness with melow complimentary sweetness, not overpowering. Floral and pine characteristics as well. First time trying this Particular Founders brew. Glad I stocked up, excellent IPA

Very good IPA. Pungent nose, pine and grapefruit. Lightly toasted malts and a medium body. Powerful from beginning to end.

At Prohibition Taproom. Served in a tulip glass. Poured clean golden with a thick sea foam head that left significant lacing. Aroma was grapefruit and pine. Taste of grapefruit and peach with light caramel malts. The bitterness on the back end helps to conceal that high ABV. The freshest I’ve ever had this. Delicious

Bottled on 3/20/12. Tasted on 4/18/12. It pours a very clear, bright golden color with a nice white head that shrinks to a fine ring. The aroma is not as strong or pungent as expected with some biscuity malt and fruity hops with a touch of cat pee. The flavor is nicely balanced with a full, biscuity malty background backed up by some piney bitterness and hints of citrus. The alcohol is present and warming. Not as much hop aromatics or flavor as some of the new west coast IIPA’s. The finish lasts forever. Pretty good beer, just not my favorite take on the style.
